So why is Mad Men successful in your opinion.
Because it has room to grow?
Because it has subject matter?
Because it has a hook? (ZOMBIES!)
Hmmm, almost all that stuff sounds like things a critic would consider. The rest of it slightly related to ratings.
A critically acclaimed show like say Terriers, successful or not?
A popular show you don't like, not successful because you don't like it?
I don't like plenty of popular shows but I wouldn't say they are not successful just because I don't like them......but you keep trying to find a way around thatLast edited by BlazingBolt; 11-01-2013, 06:08 PM.migrated from chargerfans.net then the thenflforum.com then here

As I said, I think Mad Men is successful and I dont like it.
All Walking Dead has right now is subject matter, ratings, hook and posibbly longevity. Story is weak. Writing is unbelievably bad at times. Acting is bad. There is no "hero" to root for. Critics slam it. It has no heart and has shown it has no room to grow. The network supports the show but not the people that work on it. Its on its third or 4th showrunner. And the directing has no substance or style.
Its frickin zombies. They should be able to put together awesome stories. Its zombies.Hashtag thepowderblues

Subject matter, ratings, hook, and possibly longevity.
I thought that made it successful?
Wait, only if the critical eye sees those points positively is it successful? But I think you are saying those are positive points of the show. So those things don't make it successful because of the negative points , points which are also judged by critics.
So it actually needs critical praise of a majority of points or some formula you deem to define it as successful?
Ok, you don't like the show. But you're just being silly trying to say it's not a successful show. You know it, I know it, and everyone reading this knows it.
I think you just mis spoke originally, but I love how you go on and on trying to save face or whatever it is you want to call it. Love you man, thanks for the dialogue.migrated from chargerfans.net then the thenflforum.com then here

I didn't say a few of those points make a successful show. Not once. Or else a show like Terriers would be considered a successful show.
The Walking Dead having less than half of that criteria does not make it successful. It's a wreck. But name one other zombie show on TV.Last edited by oneinchpunch; 11-01-2013, 09:32 PM.Hashtag thepowderblues
