Just use this thread now for Herbert discussion. I dont want to deal with the drama that is happening in that other thread. I would really appreciate it if all parties involved in that spat would move on. I did not go back and read it. I was notified by members who are tired of seeing it. Members who are not involved.

If you watch all these big plays by Mahomes.
I am not seeing some great reading of defenses and super high IQ quarterbacking.
I am seeing arm talent plays.
Some of the throws were probably not very smart but WR snatches it for a big play.
Pat is just looking deep and letting it fly.

Id imagine Herbert can also look deep and let it fly.
problem is every KC WR runs 4.2 or 4.3
Chargers don't have that deep speed.

But maybe they can add it.

Trade 2021 4th rd pick to Packers for former 5th rd pick Valdes-Scantling-WR. 6'4 200 4.37 speed
And/Or
Trade 2021 6th rd pick to Jaguars for Conley-WR 6'2 210 4.35 speed. His deal expires after season.
And they just drafted Shenault. And already have Chark & Westbrook.

If Allen or Williams miss any games or parts of games. You still have some speed with size to put on the field.

But speed is useful and it would be nice if the deep catch can be open instead of a jump ball.

Is it possible that Beck becomes the QB coach after working with Herbert all summer thereby accelerating his learning curve.

This is what I keep coming back to since the draft, doesn’t really matter what the Chargers have in place, Herbie is simply gonna do everything he needs to, regardless. Would not surprise me for him to, well, surprise us all.
