Mathews probably didn't cost us anything more then vet minimum, so that probably had a lot to do with it. Vickerson is probably looking for as much money as he can get, and he did miss time in PS. Mathews is a bit below Vickerson as a player, but is a lot cheaper, and healthier. And the difference on the field is just a small margin, especially with the vested vet thing.Comment

Vickerson is just not going to get any interst right now. The real thing will be next week when the 1st games are over. But he has some knocks against him, so maybe not even then. The health and knucklehead thing are not good things to have as a guy who is not very productive. The thing we don't know about is what kind of locker room guy he is, and that is probably a big thing with McCoy and TT. If you look back at all the guys we have signed and have worked out, all seem to fit the culture, and it is something new coaches and GM's take very seriously. It only takes one locker room lawyer type of guy to mess it up.Comment
