I don't have any hard feelings for Ansley and only wish him the best. I don't see the problems we had with defense entirely his fault. I think if anything he helped cover up our miscues and pushed along the development of our younger players. Ansley didn't fumble the football on the offensive side of the ball which lead to such a lopsided affair plus I think this team had enough of Staley type tactics.

He called the defensive plays after Staley was fired. Defense averaged giving up 17.6 PPG with Ansley and one was against Buffalo.

He 'retired', but that was the biggest 'ah shit' in his Hall of Fame career.

He also had a string of WTF Your-This-Year's 2 for My-Next-Year's 1. The combo of the Player-shall-not-Name draft and those decimated the roster quality and led to his choice of "retirement"

We'll never really know how bad Staley's designs and directions affected his staff but I wouldn't bet on any of them based on the team performance. Raidahs can have every 2023 defensive coach as far as I'm concerned. Who knows how long it will take them to unlearn Staley.
