An offensive line's quality and consistency can affect the outcome of a game. Many football games are won up front — every playoff team in 2021 had a top-15 offensive line based on PFF grades.
Wait, 14 playoff teams, all in the top 15 graded OLs?

Doesn’t that say that the secret to getting in the playoffs is to build a top graded OL? Is it really that easy? Is that why we have missed the playoffs so frequently?
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

And please don’t tell me we were the only team with a top 15 graded OL that didn’t make the playoffs.

                That's a mighty big "if."

That whole rookie dinner check thing, in many instances, is pretty fucked up from the stories i’ ve read over the years.

Looks like Tom Brady kind of overdid it:

"Tom Brady also reportedly takes part (or at least did in the past) in this taxing tradition. Former teammate and running back Fred Taylor called out Brady on The Pivot Podcast and revealed what his rookie tradition was.

Fred Taylor also gave an insight about Tom Brady's conduct regarding rookie dinners in New England:
"Tom would come in there and buy a three, four, five thousand dollar bottle of wine, take one sip, say goodnight."

I’ve read a lot of stories over the years of gratuitously gluttonous behavior by the vets to stick as large a bill as possible on the rook. Thats just kind of fucked up. Contract, no contract, sticking another person with a $50k bill for a meal and laughing about it just isn’t right.
