Really don't get the Alex Smith love. Does anybody not get that his broken leg was very bad and he almost lost it to infection?
I'd be shocked if he came back at all. Not to mention he signed a pretty pricey contract w/ Washington for being 35.

There's no need to bring in a vet minimum guy when you have a backup on a rookie deal. We've got more important holes to fill. Seeing as how the plan is apparently for Taylor to start & groom our draftee, if he goes down the season is all but lost any way. Alex Smith on 2 good legs isn't fixing that.

Smith was back practicing in October, by September he'll be fine.

The snaps last year plus a growth spurt and here comes Pipkens.

Pipkins didn't tear it up his rookie year, but he really wasn't that bad. I think that a year 2 leap is very possible for him.

Unlike you, I'd prefer to move on from Pouncey, regardless of his medicals. He's been a below avg player for a while now.

Smith isnt actually praciticng either. He has been throwing and on Dec 30th he said he still hopes to play. He has had 17 surgeries since he broke his leg. At 35 or 36....think id jut take my money and run.

He signed a 4 year, 94 mil deal with Washington. A no Thanks from me.

Seems as if Telesco had two plans - whats a better team:

Brady + really not sure what veterans for the minimum or cheap + OL at 6 + WR 2nd round +.....

Tyrod + Bulaga + Joseph + Harris + Herbert at 6 + WR 2nd round
(and I am throwing a bone that Herbert is the pick at 6 - it might be Simmons or another OT)


Unless Telesco nailed the draft and the cheap veteran pick ups - I think Plan B

The past few weeks have just been insane....the nation shuttered due to a pandemic...and the Chargers are big hogs in free agency...I mean, Chris Harris turned down the Eagles and Raiders for us??

I think I was in a car accident, and I am currently in a coma ward somewhere, dreaming...
