The Raiders players unloaded on Josh McDaniels before the Lions game. It "broke" him, and he was out of it for the entire game. McDaniels reportedly had Antonio Pierce address the team on behalf of the coaches. Pierce talked about his experienced as a player, he was on the Giants 2007-08 team that beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl. He talked about being the underdog going in and slaying the big dog Patriots, and that is the mindset the Raiders need to adopt. Reportedly, McDaniels was upset about Pierce bringing up that game, and told him to never talk that way about the Patriots again. Apparently when this got back to Mark Davis, McDaniels attitude about the Patriots, that was put him over the edge and he decided to let McDaniels go. He decided to make Pierce interim HC based on his speech to the players - reportedly.

Chiefs have scored 7 second half points total in the last 3 games, which is 2.3 pts per game. 13 2nd half points in the last 4 games, or a sliver more than 3 pts per second half. They scored zero second half points in the last 2 games. Not saying anything specific about the chiefs. But perhaps just perhaps certain Charger stats that many fret about after 7 games may turn out to be an interesting transient anecdote and not eternal fate.

The NFL is a tough league and every team has professional players that will get paid more if they play better.
