I was too young to remember too much.

I used to have a cool poster though of Fouts standing in front of a fighter jet that said TOP GUN. I tried to Google it, but couldn't find a pic.

I loved how tough Fouts was-----the "broken nose" game against the Raiders in '86 came toward the close of his career, but only further proved what a gritty S.O.B. he really was.

I was at this game. 1973, a 41-0 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

That game had to be tough to watch. Then again, maybe you were so young it didn't matter.

Was there anything positive from the game?

I was at this game in Kansas City. Chargers first win of the 1975 season. Fouts played the whole game but I barely remember him. Ricky Young was the Charger that stuck out for me.

The NFL is a passing league, but you knew that already. Meet the man who made it that way: Don Coryell.

Its a great Cornell arrival with great Fours pics and quotes. For me Fours exemplified and personified what a QB should be.

Nothing positive about the game that I recall. Harland Svare was the head coach. Johnny Unitas and Deacon Jones were on the team. It was the year of the big drug scandal. Unitas was injured so Fouts was called upon to start. He, and the whole team struggled. After the game two fans held a banner that said "Sack Svare".

But yes, I was young (11 years old) and this was my first time seeing a live game. My dad used to take me with the local CPO Club (he was a retired Chief Petty Officer in the US Navy) and we'd take the big gray bus to San Diego Stadium to watch the games in 73 and 74.
