Chris Brown - I thought he played well next to Django vs. the Niners. Decent pass pro, even though it was vs. the Niner scrubs.
Spencer "Unchained" Django: Honestly, I think he has a faster shuffle to mirror edge rushers than Tevi. Also, Drango has a lot of snaps in regular season games at OT. I was a bit surprised they left him off the 53, but I guess they had to make room for Pip.
Kemon Hall - what I saw of him wasn't all that impressive...got burned once or twice in coverage...
Lanier - very strong PS...thought he deserved a spot on roster...hope we bring him back...
Moore...played well in limited snaps...made a few nice catches...
Newsome - deserved to be on roster, until Pope showed up, especially on ST's...
Patton - I think either he or Artavis makes the roster if we don't sign Inman...Patton was outstanding in PS...
Artavis - must have broke his heart to see Inman signed, but oh, well...deserves a promotion to team, but Patton does also...
Sokol - made a few nice catches...solid player...
TBH Drango is the only one who matters to me regarding our team's fortunes. I like him better than Tevi too. There is nothing out there better than Drango IMV.

Here's hoping that PS #10 is a CB.
Drango and Brown both looked good against the 49ers. Good to have them back.

more a rhetorical question as I have no idea and wouldnt expect others to know - how many of the 49er defensive players they went again are still on their roster today?
I find no great comfort in Tevi - maybe Drango is a better near term bet. Coaches didn't think so, not yet. Longer term i'd rather suffer thru Pipkin's learning curve as he seems to learn fast and he has the upside to get where we need (or we think he does - its a bet, not a lock).
I understand.
But as far as not sure how Spanos get him.
Just Make the decision, call him and say what do you need, your are the guy we want. Hand him the keys and let him do his thing. But it isn't the Spanos style.
So, yeah. Never was gonna happen.
Maybe they weren't sure he was the guy right away, hence the GM search first. As for Reid, he was an offensive mastermind but his undoing was his DC appointments after Johnson passed away. Plus his clock management skills. One of the reasons he kept losing to New England in the POs.
