Remember that we've lost several players via FA, or didn't renew their contracts, so there are some open spots...Pipkins and Stick most likely stay on the roster, or there's a good chance either or both are poached...

Stick will easily go to the PS and stay there.

Can't see anyone taking Stick from our PS but can't you name 1 your emergency 3rd QB and not have him active? Not sure the details.
That used to be the way, but they changed the rule a few years back.

Fleet, I saw your retweet, Greg Cosell on Easton Stick.

I put a lot of weight on what Cosell says, especially re QBs.

Stick has good footwork/mechanics, and this is so important for accuracy.

There is a confidence vibe to TT lately...he knows our continuity has created a scouting staff that is locked in.

Have faith in our draft process, TPB draftniks.

I tend to think this league is all about doing what works. Its a copycat league. And when you see an athlete like Taysom go undrafted and see how the Saints used him...if you were to look at this years QBs who can do what he does...Stick really is a very similar type of player. Only much better in the passing game.

Saints had Brees and Bridgewater with Hill on the Roster. Im not sure if Bridgewater ever suited up. But they carried the 3.

I think the team envisions him as much more than Hill....but im thinking he could potentially be used in a similar fashion to Hill.

He may or may not be that guy. But when the GM blurts out they decided they were going to draft him 2 weeks ago? Its sort of telling. Maybe he ends up on the practice squad. I dont know. But i now the team really had a thing for him. Has to be something planned for him.

I think Stick will become a favorite of this staff and if he shows anything in preseason he will get a spot on the roster and they will use him in non-qb ways as much as they can. It sells tickets, builds fan loyalty, etc to have someone like that on the team. Everyone roots for a player like that (just think about Hill on the Saints). If he stinks up the joint, then yeah, he may not Stick around and get relegated to the PS.

I also think whoever the punter is this year will also be doing the kickoffs.

Very doubtful...he would have to show up and lay a real stinker throughout the preseason. Lot of teams liked him, he would get poached immediately...we aren't giving away a 5th round pick like that.

I'll say this for Easton. He improved as he went.

2 of his 3 losses were his sophomore year. At home to the Jackrabbits and at home to James Madison in the FCS semifinals.

Junior year, he only lost one game at SDSU. (he had a bad day, that day.)

And hasn't lost since. Very tough QB to play against. As I mentioned earlier, they used him a lot on designed runs.

But he was very good at escaping and turning nothing into something.

But my previous criticisms still hold true.
                      1. NDSU runs the ball better than anyone, that opens up the passing game for him.
                      2. NDSU has more talent than ANYONE at the FCS level. Better O Line, Running Backs, TE's... and especially defense. So I don't know how he will be when things are closer to the same talent wise.
"...of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong."

Not sure how this pick will turn out. It sounds like he will bring some versatility with his mobility. Still I think if were were going to go for a QB I would have rather grabbed Rypien at that point. Kind of like Rivers not very mobile but pretty darn accurate.

I think all of those things Stick had working for him is what the vision is for us.
I think our future post rivers is having a mobile game manager with an elite run game/defense.
which isn't a bad plan because you really can't realistically depend on drafting another Rivers
