Bosa has to play 16 games and have a significant impact this season in order to demand top money next season. He didn't have much of an impact last season, even after returning from his foot, and he was a non-factor in the biggest game of the year. He is only going to get top money if he shows this year he is an impact player who can change games.

This is a show me you are worth it year for Bosa. He has to stay on the field and exceed his 2017 stats (12.5 sacks) in order to get top money, or he can join Melvin Gordon holding out for a contract that he has not proven he is worth.

Bosa held out when his salary and signing bonus was slotted and non negotiable. For his next contract he won't be bound by those restrictions and that will make it harder. By far. My prediction is that Bosa will want to be paid Donald/Mack money regardless of whether his stats warrant it.

I tend to agree. I think he was already looking at his 2nd contract the day he was drafted. He's going to ask for a King's ransom whether he earned it or not. Just like Gordon, if we can afford to keep him let's keep him. But you can't mortgage the future for him.

So much hate for Bosa. Yes he needs to stay healthy this year. But his sack and pressure rate has been excellent when he has played. He also plays the run extremely well. One of the most well rounded DE in the game. Let things play out before you all get in line to pack his suitcase.

You are mistaking what I say for hate. I like Bosa a lot. Think he's an incredibly important impact player for us. I hope he stays healthy. But I also think he will want to be paid top of the market money regardless. You can think both things and not hate him.
