If Luiget were out for the season I wouldn't be thrilled by signing him. PASS!

Report: Browns aren't signing DT Johnathan Hankins

ByJosh Edwards Aug 15, 1:08 PM

The Cleveland Browns have no immediate plans to sign defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins after Wednesday's workout according to Cleveland.com. Instead, the team announced that they are signing defensive lineman Blaine Woodson.
The Browns announced the following in a press release:

"The Cleveland Browns have signed DL Blaine Woodson. Woodson is a 6-2, 295-pound rookie out of Delaware. He was originally signed by San Francisco as an undrafted free agent on May 15 and was waived July 26. He recorded 159 career tackles and 14.5 sacks in college. Woodson is a native of Stroudsburg, Pa."
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

The Browns may change their minds, but, something didn't click there with him.

Ive been trying to dig up the source on this news a for a while. Nowhere does he say he met with the Chargers. Mary Kay Abbott sourced the Browns news. But even Sirius said he didnt mention any teams by name.

So who did he tell he met with the Bolts? Who told Sirius if Hankins didnt name teams?

Or somebody could have seen an old report and hyped it. Time will tell, but I'd love to have him here. That gives us a monster DL. And DL play wins.

He plays 2 gaps well. He isnt dominant. But you need a sound 2 gap. And his ability to be consistent in that role will make everyone else around him better. He has a lazy rep though. And its possible he didnt sign with a team before camp because he didnt want to go through camp.

That’s exactly what I was thinking, and why he would be a good fit with us cuz we rotate so much.

          I don’t think so.

I’d hope so, but I think the front office and team like Mebane enough

Bah. Not impressed. Lazy turd wirh shit motivation. Richardson and Jones can get it done as the season progresses and phase out mebane. Or cut mebane if they like someone else. But that unmotivated lazy Hankins will have soft tissue injury all season because he is not in football shape.

If he showed up trim and in good shape a maybe. We have no time to bring him up to speedon the Defense now. Why he would wait this long to not get into a camp is just bad advice from his agent.

Probably pass. Have him in for a workout is fine to gage his condition and motivation though.
