He actually did, though a better pass defender could have helped. Bird also was great on ST.

it's theoretical because how they do in college doesn't always translate to the pros.

like that game against the team with the most pro prospects?

I like te'o but lets give him some time and see what happens.

Te'o 10 tackles in that game were every bit as impressive as Birds 14 vs. the Texans. Which is to say...

Definitely needs time, he's a rookie that's missed significant time. Still, need to get him in the game.

@MartyCaswell: Mike McCoy on Donald Butler's (groin) status for Sunday "we're taking it one day at a time."

Butler better be OK for Sunday. Without him we are in trouble, granted the D hasn't been that great but they are playing against the run better than we think. Te'o may have an even larger role on Sunday, but hopefully we can just rotate him in with Bird/Walker.

I just don't see Te'o being able to play Sunday.

Or anytime soon. It's getting near the time when he would just be better off sitting out the season. Even if he is able to start playing, he would have missed AT LEAST 6 weeks of PS and the regular season. He'd be lucky to see the field after the BYE. And then he's probably gonna stink up the joint.

Think of it this way: Next year, we'll get both Ingram back plus a "rookie" starter in MantI'R Te'o.

                        wtf?

the way I look at it, he missed 3 valuable preseason games. I think by week 8 he should start hitting his stride. that's half seasons worth of development. you dont IR him.

And you're not counting the 3 (at least) REGULAR season games he will have probably missed by this Sunday? WTF indeed!
