Whisenhunt to replace Kubiak in Houston?

I read somewhere that the rat/red lobster isn't a candidate for the Houston job, even though he may want it. I think he's done, like Marty. I expected that Whiz was only a one-season hire, and I think the Chargers may have been thinking that too, so they probably have a succession plan in place.

I think Marty would be a great hire in Houston, he could even keep Wade, rooting for Marty to land the job. Is Brian looking for work?

Wade's great as a HC if you like the nut free option. DC is his ceiling.

As a fan, I'd be pissed if the team chose Whisenhunt as the next HC. A losing record in AZ plus probably a losing record as SD's OC. I really don't see how you can sell him to the fans right now.

At the beginning of the year Wiz leaving would have bothered me. But, after the mess in Washington and a few other head-scratchers I'm over it. Reich could be promoted or...

Or Reich might go with Wiz to Houston as THEIR OC. In any case, Reich is probably destined to get a shot as a OC somewhere this off-season. Especially after Rivers' numbers.

What I remember Clayton as saying is that Wiz would be in the Top 2 to get an interview with Houston, after Shanny. This is early in the process, so there will definitely be a few more fired HCs next month wanting to interview in HOU, like maybe Tomlin and/or Ryan. And for those who think that Shanny will settle for a coordinator job--Do you know of any winning SuperBowl HC who has done that?...

It would suck to lose Whiz, but I just think that the team knew he was a short term rental and won't be as big of a setback next year as a result. This was to be expected and McCoy is an offensive guy, so the offense doesn't belong to Whiz like is often the case. McCoy built this offense IMO. I sure hope we don't lose both Whiz AND Reich though, that would really suck.

If we made Reich the OC, I imagine that he would accept. He's got a lot to work with here in SD, and as OC he'd be able to call his own plays instead of the HC. I don't remember if Whiz called his own plays in Arizona.
