Its called being polite and sportsmanlike. I expect the Brown to fight hard but they have really struggled on scoring and our D is playing quite well. If Heyward doesnt suit up that might open things up but i expect bosa and ingram to get some sacks this week.

I see no wrong on saying that, besides being Polite as RTPbolt mentioned its also a reminder that its a long road ahead. But I honestly think this team is still very fragile, I wouldnt be surprised if we lose this one, this team still needs to build character and get swagger. But real confident swagger.

"This is a good team that is well coached and fight hard", every team in the league said those kind of things, common stuff.
By saying they're a talented team despite going winless, you're being honest but their coaches will use that as motivation. You just don't hear this in smart organizations. When did you hear Belichick calling a winless team "talented"? He would talk about the Brownies like every other team he faced. "This is a strong team.... blah blah....".
It calls being polite AND smart about it.
If you're a coach of a winless team with pathetic results and they're calling your team a talented team. What will you think about yourself? What do you think it's mean? It's mean that you don't know how to coach, you suck, etc..
Teams FIND things for motivation. It doesn't matter if you're actually trying to insult them or not.Last edited by vinabolt; 11-30-2017, 05:13 PM.Follow me and my wife here: https://twitter.com/gossip_lady_se

This game worries the shit out of me! I just think we are still too inconsistent to look past anyone and historically, this is often the type of game that we wet the bed. I do think we will win and feel we are the better team but damn, we just have a way sometimes...I'll ride the wave...where it takes me.

I am confident Lynn won't allow a let down. The Browns have no confidence. If they start out poorly, it will snowball. Gordon will make some plays but he will also run the wrong routes and do the dumb stuff he is known for. Kizer has a rocket arm and can make all the throws, just cannot accurately or consistently make the throws. I expect Browns to run Crowell a lot, use the read option and mix in play action for Gordon. Maybe even a play action bomb on the very first play. I hope Boston's hair doesn't get in his eyes.
TGLike, how am I a traitor? Your team are traitors.

Well, in sports, especially football, history suggest biggest motivation comes from the other teams' mouths, comes from what other people talking about you, even though they might not admit that. If a team's record itself were enough motivation then there would be no need for bulletin board materials.

I disagree with the suggestion that any bulletin board material has the affect you suggest. I think it is way more important to the media and talking heads. i do not know any gambler or handicapper that takes that type of motivation into account. Situational motivation yes.

Did I just get mansplained about bulletin board material? Could you be any more condescending you little twerp? I've followed the Chargers for the past 37 years. I understand what bulletin board material is, and the supposed motivation it requires, you pandering asshole.
Not to mention you're completely missing my point. Bb material tends to be overt disrespect. Not a reading into the tea leaves. Plus, any coach at 0 and 4 0 and 5, so on and so on.. Had better be trying harder, doing new things, trying different angles. Do you think they weren't motivated at 0-10? They probably want a win in the worst way. There is no way a read between the lines, I'll take this as actually a backhanded compiment, is going to change anything in those coaches heads.. They're going to do their best to get their team to win as they always do week after week.
And, the reason a teams record in and of itself isn't just enough, typically, is because most teams don't go 0-11! Bb material is also usually to give yourself extra motivation when you know a fight will be close.

We have Washington and Kansas City coming on the schedule, emotions are overrated. The fact is the Chargers win this week by playing sound, not making mistakes and letting the talent on the field emerge. So they just need to focus on protecting the ball, not jumping offside, and maintaining individual assignments. You lose to less talented teams when you screw up the basics. So don't get sloppy and there is nothing to worry about.
If the majority of the roster does that then players like Rivers, Allen, Bosa and Ingram will shine and ensure victory.
