    Sheli done?

The New York Giants will take the field without Eli Manning starting under center for the first time since 2004.
The team announced Tuesday that Geno Smith will start at quarterback Sunday in Oakland versus the Raiders. Coach Ben McAdoo said rookie Davis Webb will also play, if not in Week 13, then some point before the end of the season. "Geno will start this week," McAdoo said, via the team's official website. "Over the last five games, we will take a look at Geno, and we will also give Davis an opportunity."
The switch ends Manning's streak of 210 consecutive regular-season starts, the second-longest streak by a QB in NFL history, behind Brett Favre (297).

Bad timing for the Bolts as Sheli does give the Giants the best chance to win.

Looks like the Giants are entering the draft game for their next qb.

He should ask for his release. There are probably a few teams that would jump at the chance to pick him up

If Eli is available for trade next off season I can see a few teams being interested in his services. He still has something to offer.

That would change that team pretty quick. Same with Coughlin and the Jags

Maybe. He had been putrid for a few years now...including last year when they were the 4th lowest scoring offence but went 11-5. I think they are saving wear and tear in a meaningless injury filled season. I hope he is done though.

Honestly, this is a classless move by the Giants. They should have rode him until the end of the season, then let him decide for himself. Giants are now in tank mode, hopefully Jets hold off on that mode until after they play the Chiefs.

Why ask for his release? Maybe they are saving his ass for next year given they have no shot at the playoffs and the worst pair of OTs in the league. He has always been average anyway. He and Flacco are the most over-paid and under performing QBs of all time.

Id gladly trade a 7th to the Giants for Eli. So he can back up Rivers.
