Still think he was overated even before he was played like a moron by his idiot cousin. Still don't know what we have here, except his athleticism and speed are not going to improve. At best we traded up to get a solid starting ILB. If he eventually becomes a 3 down player I will be in shock. Too harsh?
I think you're being very fair Mr H and I feel the same way. I thought he would have still been there for us without the trade up, but i reserved any real judgement for after I saw him play. Competent. Thats all I can say about him. We traded up and lost a pick for a fairly competent ILB. He's not flashy, he doesn't compliment the other LB'ers and he doesn't make those around him better. He's vanilla.

OK, he's mocha...but with no cinnamon, marshmellows, or sprinkles or even whip cream. He's just plain.

People have mentioned he should bulk up in the off-season, but considering he isn't that fast to begin with (he dropped weight last year to be better in pass coverage) would that really improve his game?

(Reminds me of one of the scouting reports on Matt Wilhelm during the draft, "he's pretty fast...for a defensive end.")

Te'o seems to have the head for the game, but he doesn't seem to have the athleticism IMO. We'll see.
                    Prediction:
                    Correct: Chargers CI fails miserably.
Fail: Team stays in San Diego until their lease runs out in 2020. (without getting new deal done by then) .
Sig Bet WIN: The Chargers will file for relocation on January 15.

so he's somehow prevented from working with a speed coach and doing strength training come the offseason? I don't get it. There are coaches who specialize in making guys faster and more explosive for the Combine. Also dozens of trainers and weight lifting coaches he could hire.

He was physical in college, he is going to be fine, more Donnie Edwards than Jr but he will be fine. His insticts are already showing and as long as he stays healthy he will keep improving imo.

He's kinda being viewed in the same light as Ryan Mathews. We traded up for him and gave up a pick, so expectations are high with him. If he had been drafted straight up in the 2nd people might not be so harse on him.
