Another loss, another lost season for the Chargers. Between not being able to close out games (SEE: Broncos, Dolphins and the Eagles on Sunday) and a tepid response from the L.A. market that apparently would rather watch "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" about eight times before going to a pro football game, it's been a horrid start for everyone's "surprise playoff team." Trouble is, the cause for each loss has been different. The season-opening Monday Night Football debacle was on the offensive line. The loss to the Dolphins came courtesy of two missed kicks. Philip Rivers celebrated Week 3 with three first-half interceptions. Against Philly? No run defense. None

Tackling has been an issue for the Chargers' defense so far in 2017. It has allowed 2.6 yards per rush after first contact, the worst in the NFL. To put it in perspective, the Broncos have allowed 2.4 yards per rush overall.

It's getting real bad when even Eagles fans were telling what's left of Chargers fandom that they're being too pessimistic. That may have been a 2 point loss, but it felt like Los Angeles got blown out. On a day when StubHub seemingly played host to the most significant away crowd yet, the Chargers continued their maddening trend of "good plays, bad plays" all damn game.

Pro Football Reference Simple Rating System is interesting as there is a huge gap between the Chargers and the better teams in the conference (1.9 then 7.4 to Houston). Aikman shows an overall improvement, maybe because they are slightly better than the other 0-4 teams.
