Why? Why waste money on a team that is a total failure?

Revis is done. Don't waste money on him. Go get a LB to replace Emannual or a OT or OG help.

Depends on what we have to give up. How much is he still owed?

Who would that be? Revis is just a matter of negotiating a contract with him. Revis is a FA, so it is just a matter of talking to him. At this point, he doesn't get paid anything to just sit around. I don't think anyone is suggesting a huge money deal. He is going to have to get used to the fact that he would get a couple of million bucks, and that he is no longer going to get paid like an elite player. If not, good luck to him in his life after football.

There are no good OL out there sitting around. And I find it unlikely we could trade for anyone since that leaves a hole for some team to fill midseason since the other team just ends up having a hole to fill themselves.

The only exception would be Duane Brown, who is holding out for the Texans. At some point, someone has to budge in that situation. The Texans know he has to report for week 8 (or he stays 2 years away from being a FA), so he does have to report, and then he can play the holdout game again next season for them. Evidently, they think having a pretty good LT for 8 weeks this season and 8 weeks next year (minus whatever injuries), is worth enough to keep him.

There are only 2 types of players around. Street FA who are out of work because they are not very good, or the few top end guys who are out of work because they have priced themselves out. Revis has priced himself out, but if we can talk him down, fine. He cannot play man to man and be isolated out, by himself with no S help anymore. He has to play zone, or get help from a LB or S.

Losing A top CB making kicking the tires the right thing to do whether 0-3 or 3-0. If he improves the team then evaluate him and find a salary that works. There is a lot of football to be played and I wouldnt shy away from a good vet even if hes lost a step due to age.
