OT: Sam Bradford may be done for the year

    Torn knee ligaments.

Amazingly, after all the rule adjustments the NFL has made to protect players from concussions and knee injuries, it seems this year is worse than every.

Finley was carted off with a neck/head injury during the Packers game, too.

Might not be a bad call, really.

I've been surprised that Bradford hasn't been a better pro. I know there were a lot of naysayers, but I really thought he would be much better. I was wrong. I admit it.

Nonetheless, he's a quality kid and I feel bad for him.

Also feel bad for him being handcuffed by Brian Schotty.

Yeah, I think he's been hurt somewhat by who the team has put around him. But even so, you should be seeing some flashes. I just don't see many when I watch him play. Would like to see him work with a really good QB coach and in a better system.

if you were Telesco, would you be tempted to offer the Rams Whitehurst for next year's 2nd round pick? Rivers is better protected now than he's been in a couple years and hasn't missed a game for what 7 years or something now? Very little chance we'll need our #2 to do more than kneel down a couple times to close the game like yesterday. We could then fast forward Sorenson's development. Cleveland and Houston (IIRC) have both started 3rd stringers this year, and with our offensive brain trust I expect they could come up with winning game plans for Sorenson if we were ever forced to start him.

I am always tempted to offer Whitehurst for something of value. I am a big proponent of trading nothing for something. The problem is, would anyone bite?

If Schotty Jr is there Whitehurst would make some sense having played for Marty and Cam's system for a year and several under Norv. He shouldn't need much help to learn their playbook.

not only that, he played for Seattle, so should be somewhat familiar with the division.
