OT: Coming to SD in October and need a nice lunch spot recommendation

I will be in San Diego in early October and I have a lunch date planned. Any recommendations on a nice lunch spot? Nothing too fancy, just casual and nice. No particular type of food as long as it's good. My date lives in Clairemont. It doesn't have to be near there but not too far either, meaning the north county is probably out.

Yea Rudis in Solana Beach has good Carne. Its steak and not diced little pieces. Ill have to try Pollos.

Thats North County. Love that place.

Mid North county IMHO. Not too far a trek if you're in the city. I just saw they finally finished the restaurant across the street, the Pacific Grill. I'm going to try to hit that in the next 2-3 weeks. Never could understand why it stood unfinished for so long, great location.
