    Rookies Jersey # Assignments

Should we be getting an announcement today?

Last year's rookie jersey assignments were announced on the Monday following the draft by the SDUT ~2:00pm.

Here are my projections for the 2017 class:

    Williams, WR......#82
    Lamp, G............#66
    Feeney, G.........#69
    Jenkins, S.........#43
    King, CB/S.........#33
    Tevi, OT...........#77
    Rochell, DE......#98

    Anybody else have other guesses?

Lamp wore 76, so that's what he'll probably get.

Thought the same, initially....but Okung has 76 currently...doubt he'll give it up since he's a seasoned vet.

My guess is Williams will get 11.

You're probably right, but I hate that WRs can wear 10-19 these days. The 10s should be QB-only #s, in my opinion. Hope he goes with 82 or 88.

I'm of the opposite opinion, I wouldn't mind seeing all skill position players have their choice of numbers. Be cool to see a RB with number 1 or a QB wearing 21 like Hadl or 22 like Flutie.

Yeah, I kinda like the QBs having higher # choices as well....my fav was Sammy Baugh with #33 (not that I ever saw him play, lol).

I dont like little DBs with big numbers. King needs to be in the 20's. I prefer Williams with a low number. I tend to see TE's in the 80s. I dont want him mistaken for one.

I have way to much time on my hands and im clearly an NCAA football fan more than an NFL guy. lol

This reminds me, I wish 18 and 19 weren't retired. Those are awesome numbers for receivers and I would love to see Williams rocking one of them, but instead we'll have to see him in some shit number in the 80s. Best case scenario he gets 83.

Technically 18 isn't retired, only 14, 19, 21, and 55. But my guess they'll never assign it. If the equipment manager doesn't go up to LA, the next one might not be as attached to the Joiner legacy. For the longest time, it seemed 37 was held out after Harrison left, it is back as an active number. Ron Mix's number used to be retired, but he came back as a Raider, and they put it back in.
