There seems to be a need to explain how the initial roster played out.
Jimbo asks, "why have a TE line up on the end of the line instead of just using a heavy formation ?
In that regard, Sarell is TE#5.
So Dissly is In Line TE.
Hurst, Smartt, maybe McFadden are in motion.
    Several WRs are good blockers.
Surely there will be fluidity at the bottom of the roster.
GRo knows what he is looking for.
This...and also putting a big boy in the backfield as an hback, vs using a TE there...or a TE/FB hybrid like Mason or Fisk...

Gonna be fun checking out our new looks this year...the stuff they draw up will be interesting.
    Lone Bolt's Final Mock

Tyler Booker G, Josaiah Stewart Edge, Cam Skattebo RB, Mitchell Evans TE, Jamaree Caldwell NT, Isaac TeSlaa WR, Ahmed Hassanein DE, Craig Woodson S, Eli Cox C, Kalel Mullings RB

Sleeper day 3 pick: Tahj Brooks RB Texas Tech

Frank Reich was an excellent backup in Buffalo, winning two playoff games in 1992 to get the Bills back into the Super Bowl. Steve Buerlein won a playoff game for the Dallas Cowboys in 1991. There are plenty of examples. That is the type of backup quarterback we should strive for. Not Easton Stick.
      And don't forget George Blanda...
      22 - TE Mason Taylor
      55 - RB Quinshon Judkins
      86 - DL Josiah Stewart
      125 - G Dylan Fairchild
      158 - C Jake Majors
      181 - WR Donte Thornton

Too bad Fisk didn’t make it. Maybe he’ll be in PS.

what doesn't jive with me is this notion that we just throw our hands up and don't even try to improve the position...and nobody is going to call any of the guys mentioned unicorns, they were experienced journeyman that were competent in a pinch...

The thing about Easton is that he didn't even face any competition, the red carpet was rolled out and the stage was set for him to just keep the backup spot, all he had to do was come out there with the confidence that he was already the #2 and just not fuck it up...He basically went out of his way to create this situation, he looks unprepared and scared, where's the confidence? he didn't even have anyone looking over his shoulder...I can't remember the last time one these backup QB types was coddled and groomed like he was some kind of star in waiting...Easton is going on 30, he's headed into year 6in the NFL, he should've looked better than what he did...when is this development going to happen? age 34-35?

That's not many, more like a few examples that worked out. The list of failures is much greater

We probably will see some movement on waiver claims and PS signings from the league in the next few hours. We'll see if Hortiz is "Trader Joe" for this day.

Spiderman was always one of my favorite comics growing up, I still have a bunch in storage from the 70s to the 90s, I stopped collecting when I got married...

pretty soon we may have a Fisk and a Dent(Batman) on the practice squad, LOL...
