I hoped Brash would too but I doubt that UDFA doesn’t clear waivers and make it to our PS. It's a risk, all moves are risks.
The odds are Brash will be on our practice squad, not sure what may or may not be going on with Eboigbe, I have a feeling he has been working thru an injury of some kind...but he did look improved against Dallas...

on a side note, Charger's wire has a prediction for the practice squad and they left off Cornelius Johnson, that would be weird I think, just based on his work ethic and special teams prowess I would think he makes the practice squad...

There seems to be a need to explain how the initial roster played out.
Jimbo asks, "why have a TE line up on the end of the line instead of just using a heavy formation ?
In that regard, Sarell is TE#5.
So Dissly is In Line TE.
Hurst, Smartt, maybe McFadden are in motion.
      Several WRs are good blockers.
Surely there will be fluidity at the bottom of the roster.
GRo knows what he is looking for.
      We play modern Harball.

Maybe we will use lots of motion and play action.
Or someone new is coming in with the Fisk injury.
Woods is now being more physical, to go with speed, ideal at Gunner.

He's the same size that Stone Smart was when we signed him as a UDFA WR and converted him to TE...would Simi go for a position change tho? IDK, perhaps the idea of putting on 15-20 pounds might appeal to him at the buffet table and perhaps not, IDK...at 218 he's almost 20 pounds short of where most smaller receiving TEs in the NFL tip the scales...so in your theory Fehoko is our replacement for Parham? A Parham that balls out on STs...

I'm sure they have a strategy with Derius Davis with regard to preserving him. There's only so many times you can let a purse dog run with the mastiffs before it inevitably gets injured.

I'd agree that he *might* be used as a FB, but they've worked other guys there, too.

Here's a pic of the depth chart posted on the Bolts' site. No definitive indication that Mc is anything other than LG2.

I expected it, too. I guess when you keep as many wideouts as the Bolts did, you feel like it will be a while before you run out.

Stick is a very good pro and teammate, and a backup's job entails a great deal, if they are doing it right. He is Herberts best man, and Im good with that...he is a consumate professional with a good football mind...yes, I would prefer he was made an assistant qb coach...but I dont see anybody out there that can win more games than they lose if Herbie goes down long term. But I concede...my attitude towards backups has always been that, if you lose your starter longterm, you are done...so all they are really for is support, mop up duty, maybe a game or two a season....I never hang my hat on whether they can win with their arm talent...but rather on the professional support they bring in practice, film room, and on the sidelines. My guess...Stick is here to stay this season.
Can't disagree more. Jeff Hostetler and Nick Foles won Super Bowls as backups. Earl Morrall kept the 1972 Dolphins on the path to the Super Bowl. Bubby Brister stepped in and went 4-0 when John Elway pulled a hamstring on the way to the 1998 Broncos winning the Super Bowl. Frank Reich was an excellent backup in Buffalo, winning two playoff games in 1992 to get the Bills back into the Super Bowl. Steve Buerlein won a playoff game for the Dallas Cowboys in 1991. There are plenty of examples. That is the type of backup quarterback we should strive for. Not Easton Stick.

Again, when you bunch them all up in a paragraph, it looks like alot...but spread these successful backups over all the teams, across 40 years...you are looking for a unicorn...and I dont see anything out there worth blowing resources on in the league today...once Jim and Joe establish a solid winning team and culture, which is where our resources are needed, then we can have the luxury of strongly addressing the backup QB IMO

I don’t see it. I suspect over-read on the WR group’s meaning and it’s more about ST gunner 1 and gunner 2 than any offensive set. Unless we envision 4 WR sets where we just randomly call one of them a TE. Fehoko is not a TE, not in any definition. In power sets, Roman will use an OL player as extra TE.

and it may not last, 7 WR could be temporary strategery to wait for teams to set their PS and further reduce the odds SF or BR are poached (ok, thats a wilder theory too).

Agree, and as I also posted, I don’t think his vision includes Fehoko is now a TE, thats not what we have ever seen from him.
