It's among my Top 10 Charger plays of the last decade.

The one thing that surprised me was that, when Mariota ran in pursuit of Mack and tried to tackle him, Mack *could* have absolutely abused him. Like, plowed into him, and landed on him, full force. But he just shrugged Mariota off, and kept going.

edit: Mack actually stripped the ball from a receiver, but Mariota did chase after Mack, and put himself in the position for Mack to truck him.

Morris-Brash is the previously mentioned line-of-scrimmage player the Chargers left off the roster. He showed off some real pass rush juice, both in practice and the preseason games. Not to mention he had a pick six in the preseason finale. Morris-Brash could eventually find a role with an NFL team as a sub-package rusher. In the end, though, he is undersized. And that popped up at times as a run defender when he was asked to set the edge. That is likely what left him off the roster. But he feels like a prime practice squad candidate if he clears waivers.
I'm hopeful that he clears waivers, if he doesn't it won't be the end of the world either, both Shelby and Farmer should make the practice squad and both have game experience from last year, plus Farmer has flashed in the past, the guy I was kind of impressed with went to IR, Chris Collins, he reminded me of Steve Foley from a size and build POV plus with that #53 and the way he moved, I'm glad that they 'stashed' him on IR, I think he has a brighter future than even Morris-Brash as he looked stout agains the run and just looked like a beast out there, I'm excited about what he'll bring next year, hopefully they'll get him fixed up medically and sign him to a future's contract then continue to develop him, I'm going out on a limb and predicting that Chris Collins makes the 53 man roster next year...

I suppose he didn't make the 53 because of how good and deep the CB group is, along with the team needs elsewhere on the roster. Hankins has been a Charger since last year, and he's been improving. He's one player I want the team to hang on to.
Hankins hopefully makes it onto the practice squad, he made some nice plays in the preseason...

the last time I recall a Charger DB doing something like that was Rodney Harrison back like in the very late 1990s and he did it several times over the course of his career against some RBs too...

You have to look at the roster and not just those two players. Brash was competing at by far the strongest position group on the team - they have four legit starters ahead of him. Our DL hardly has that caliber of talent. I called Eb making the 53.

I hoped Brash would too but I doubt that UDFA doesn’t clear waivers and make it to our PS. Its a risk, all moves are risks.

They need to pick up kene rb/kr from the viking and free up DD for more offensive play calling.

Given we are keeping so many receivers why do I have the feeling they will line Fehoko up as a TE when we need major passing yards. Is it me? Am I dreaming?
