He’s a good player. But compared to Nolen or Harmon, Im sorry he’s not on par as a penetrating DT. He projects as a 2 down linemen by a lot of draft experts. He projects as a developmental 3 down player.
The problem with Harmon is he’s constantly in the backfield. But he doesn’t know what to do once he gets there. He doesn’t finish through the play. He gets lost on his way to the QB at times.
The problem with Nolan is his consistency vs the run. He has lapses it seems. But he’s incredible as a penetrating DT and can be lined up all over and when he’s playing at his best he’s easily the best DT/NT in this class. His stunts and twists are ridiculous. He has an entire arsenal of moves and a ton of power. With him its can he put it all together? None of these guys are without warts.

Grant is projected to be the best DT in this class ……..in 5 years.
He has to develop more. Im sure Minter can get that out of him but as a rookie starter he’ll only play 2 downs.
This is a very deep class at DT. There are a lot of very talented players out there this year.
It seems like RB and DL have great depth throughout
IOL seems better or just as good in Round 2

If Loveland is there at 22 - based on need and TEs, I think he is the pick
Even WR has better options in R2 than TE
Now, not picking Loveland for just need but it seems he is the case where the talent matches and also fills a need

One thing about RB - Skattebo had a lot of carries at ASU where somebody like Hampton, or even Damien Martinez had over 100 less in college, Henderson,-- I think that needs to be looked at

DJ Giddens had just about 500 carries
Kaleb Johnson, barely over 500 carries at Iowa

Most prospect rating services have them ranked very similarly. I don't see a "massive, glaring difference." I see a penetrating 3-tech vs a run-stopping nose. Some like chocolate, some prefer vanilla.

There’s a “glaring” difference between chocolate and vanilla, man. Lol

What I’m pointing out is that even though they play the same position technically, one makes his money penetrating and getting into the backfield. That’s Nolan’s bread and butter. He’s A 3 tech and lines up all over the d line. Grant is a run stuffer who plays most of his snaps along the D line, stopping the run, batting down balls. He’s not like Nolan at all. He occasionally can rush the passer and he’s pretty good at it. Nolan isn’t exceptional at stopping the run. He needs to “stay home” at times and just hold up at the POA and stuff the run. It’s a slight weakness of his.
Those differences are huge to teams, especially if those teams already have a good DT that does what one of these 2 guys is good at.

Rating them similarly is only in regarded to where they should be drafted. They are both good prospects so they might be getting a 1st round grade but teams will look at them completely based on their very different traits and the teams needs.

isn’t there a massive, glaring difference when it comes to intangibles ??

          doesn’t Harbaugh value enthusiasm ??

what makes you think that Harbaugh values a pass rusher that is Jerry Tillery good against the run ??

didn’t JH2 bring in Hand ‘n Naquan, @least in part, due to tackle rate ??

DT Grant, OG Donovan, ED Tuimoloau, OC Jared, TE Oronde, RB Martinez, Raheim, LB Cody Simon, Teddye
          WR Keenan, TE Fant

Early in this vid, Jeanty is operating vs the Oregon defense, with prime draft prospects Burch, Caldwell, Harmon and Bassa.

I see a running back who would immediately make us a Super Bowl contender, given our offensive line.

Jeanty's vision, balance, leg drive, cutback ability, elusiveness, ability to break tackles and even long speed are off the charts. Would u use #22 and next year's #1 or #2 pick to trade up for him?

"Ashton Jeanty is the best receiving running back in this entire draft."

It would not surprise me to see NYG take him at #3 overall after their failings with Saquon.

I am willing to give up several prime picks in two drafts to have a one-two punch of Jeanty/Najee and our OL and Justin Herbert.

In a sneaky good move, I would ask for a '25 round 6, to give us many bites at the apple at PONs with historic depth, namely EDGE/DT.

"Courage" describes Hortiz, the man involved in drafting Linderbaum and trading up for Lamar.

One of my best friends growing up has a son Josh who is a WR for WSU. So i watched every game they played this season. This kid always showed out. Totally underrated WR. Was sort of a sleeper for me as his draft grade was so low. I didnt get that. But he is clearly rising now. Good little WR. Just plays so fast.
