Ehhh,...depends who you ask I suppose. Neither are great blockers but do ok. Simms called Loveland a "killer" in blocking lol.
I think Warren plays or looks to play more violent but some of that is he isn't real fast and just he way he moves.
Kinda like Skattebo and Taylor and Loveland are more smoother. Taylor doing 28 reps was an eye opener. Doubt anyone saw him doing that.
Not criticizing, I like both. I hope Warren does go first and I'd be good with Taylor as well.

Yeah, Warren just clearly looks like a more filled out dude than Loveland.

If Loveland mitigates this from his weight room workouts at a better facility/strength coach, Warren will catch up.

I think we assume they like Loveland better because he was at Michigan, but Warren is the big beast and a more complete, powerful TE. He screams Jim Harbaugh football.

If going by the draft charts the Pats are actually overpaying. Giving the Pats a 6th rnd pick levels it out. NE only has 1 2nd rnd pick, if you are referring to 2026 than I doubt you are going to get their 3rd rnd pick. The 2nd, 3rd and 5th rnd picks are at the top of each round. I would take that all day. That would give the Chargers 11-12 picks. Sign me up.

Sorry we see things differently....I'd rather have more higher picks than just a bunch of lower round picks.

Theo Johnson stepped into the NFL and beat out a decent TE, Daniel Bellinger for the starting TE job in NY as a rookie. He was playing quite well before getting injured. You take an NFL starting TE job as a rookie and you are no slouch, regardless of where you were drafted.

I read that the Chargers are one of 6 teams holding a private workout with Tyler Warren.

Why? Trade up? or due diligence?

The Chargers have interviewed a total of 4 to 6 players with 1st round grades: Warren(TE), Loveland(TE), Amos(CB), Jeanty(RB) and possibly Hampton(RB) and Grey Zabel(IOL). Please let me know if I have missed anyone.

It seems that JH2 have specific positions in mind for the 1st round. I am guessing that Warren and Jeanty are just due diligence, in case they fall.

Like 21500 said, I would be thrilled with either. Taylor too.

Simms TE evaluations were bizarre on several comments on several players. Maybe stick to QBs.

Warren is not some plodder, he is pretty athletic, was a former QB and played football, basketball and baseball at a pretty high level. He is a bit of a freak.

Regardless of what you think of Bellinger, Theo stepped into the NFL as a rookie and played extremely well, not easy to do at TE. He has a bright future. Pretty athletic TE with size.

Not sure how you are going to get 2 2nd rnd picks when a team doesn't have 2. Unless you are talking about 2026 2nd rnd pick.

I would also add they are probably determining which one they are going to trade up for in the 2nd rnd. I don't think either one of them will be drafted in the 1st rnd. Pundits are always overvaluing players in the draft. They don't have to worry about cap ramifications. Unless there is a Bowers in the draft which there isn't then drafting a TE in the 1st just isn't wise from a value perspective.
