QJ and Chark will battle to be the X-receiver.
JP and McConkey will battle to be the Z-receiver.
All of them are outside/slot capable.
In 21-personnel, Hurst will be in the slot.
Finally, we are deep @WR. DD will make the club as the return specialist. TBD if he gets his occasional shots deep.
Rice and Johnson will battle for the 6th WR on the 53-man roster. Loser goes to the PS.
JP will play out his 4th season and probably hit the market after 2024. JP's production will determine his market... and our comp pick slot.
I make no predictions on who beats out who in training camp. It would be foolish... given the extraordinary change in offensive philosophy.
EDIT: One thing is for sure... last year's stats mean nothing to this year's scheme.OLineCentric

Being primarily a guy allowed to work underneath in space so that he can make first guys miss with his spin move is probably not sufficient.

Lots of injury prone players being brought in: Fulton, Chark, Hurst, Perryman, and then there is Bosa and the aging Mack.
It could lead to an outstanding season, where things break their way, or a very pedestrian hovering around 500 season.
Under the old regime, you know what would happen; this coaching staff is different.

I like that he averages 15 yards a catch and had 7 catches of over 20 yards last year in in a down year with a shitty offence and over matched rookie QB. Not a world beater but brings things to the WR mix.

The modern NFL offense doesn't always put a typically, smaller WR in the slot anymore. TE's are receivers, too.
Your boy, Kincaid, gets to line up there (and all over)... why not Hurst...? He's 10-times the run blocker than Kincaid.
The TE's will be doing work vs. LB's and safeties. The slot would be a great place to put Hurst!OLineCentric

We’re still thin at Edge depth, imo. Fingers crossed …“Less is more? NO NO NO - MORE is MORE!”

I just think McConkey or Palmer would be better options in the slot as a pass catcher. Not talking about it as a blocker.
Depends on what they want the slot reciever to be. Most teams dont use a slot reciever as an added blocker so like i said, depends on what they want the slot WR to be. McConkey in the slot as a reciever is a much better option than Hurst....if we are passing the ball.
I guess we will see.
