Camp will sort them out better But currently I'd guess 1a Palmer, 1b McConky, 2a Q, 2b Chark, 5 DD.
Rice will really have to step up or someone of the 1st 4 get injured. DD is the WR/ KR/ PR until further notice

I think Trader Joe is loading up for depth...but...if the wideout room is TOO full, I'll guess he trades off one or more of excess players for picks...

you mean like right before final cut downs? I'm not sure any of our guys will be sought after, I mean what would a team give up for in trade for any of our WRs when there are still so many WRs on the street even now after Gallup, OBJ, Chark, and Claypool have signed with teams post draft there are still a bunch of WRs out there...

That's the silly misconception, they just want a BALANCED attack, so with the league having gone from one extreme to another the idea of a team prioritizing the run game as a part of their offense makes them a "running team" now as opposed to a balanced team...as long as Justin Herbert is back there opposing teams will ALWAYS have to respect the pass even without MW or KA on the team and people need to realize that all Harbaugh and Hortiz are trying to do is make the Chargers more dangerous by not letting opposing teams just focus on Justin anymore...they're not going to be Marty ball or air coryell, their going to be a dangerous balanced football team...

I'm conflicted on this, on the one hand DD doesn't fit the profile of what the new regime wants in a Charger WR...on the other hand the new kick off rules have to be taken into consideration BUT, Ladd, Rice, Still, and Vidal all have return experience in college...so if DD is seen as nothing more than a specialist, it's possible his tenure could be over, I'm not sure how I feel about potentially letting him go right now...I don't like it ATM...

Jim and Joe's roster will be deep at OL, TE, and RB...hard to see 6 deep at wr...

My guess would be that Palmer is the surprise guy out, IMO he's the only guy with any measurable trade value, his contract is coming up, he's injury prone, he's the least accomplished run blocker on the roster, and plus he made some public comments after KA was traded to Chicago that may or may not have disappointed people in the organization...

Josh Palmer is entering the final year of his rookie contract (right?) so if some young wideouts excel, the team might move on from Palmer if they can find a trade partner. I don't see Palmer being released, outright.

We all hope QJ makes dramatic progress and lives up to his draft position. I am sure Hortiz and Harbaugh do too, but they are also trying to put a winning football team on the field next season. With that in mind I ask the board a question:

You can be certain that Hortiz and Harbaugh have watched extensive film on every player on the Charger roster...my question...after they watched all the film on QJ from last year, do you think they penciled him in as a starter on the team they want, or saw a project they need to work more with before he is a reliable NFL receiver?

If last year was any indication then they probably saw a kid that wasn't being used according to what he was best suited for and even then the player came on and showed some improvement towards the end of the year...

Wasnt Charks best year last year just like it wasnt for Bozeman and Hurst playing ina shit show, but i like that he averages 15 yards a catch.

Chark's best year was in Jacksonville 73 catches and he went over 1k receiving and added like 7 TDs and won trip to the ProBowl...

injuries have kept him from fulfilling his potential...

^ This. Under Telesco's thin roster there was always the concern he never did enough to build depth and if a starter went down, the season was basically lost. It is hard adjusting to the having 3 deep and let them compete mentality, Good teams almost have an embarrassment of riches BAL was always stacked w LBs, PHI and SF DL etc. I have to pinch myself this is actually happening.

Yes, and after drafting not just McConkey but Johnson and Rice - not sure I saw the need. If Johnson and Rice show they can play at the NFL level during training camp, would not want to expose them to the PS. I like the offseason moves but to me, its still about building a roster. If there is a year to see what rookies have, its his year.

Granted, see what the REAL numbers for Chark are once they are reported. It might be the type of contract that means he is not guaranteed to make the roster.

4.2 plus incentives could make it 5mil...we'll have to wait and see what he got as a signing bonus, if it's half of the contract or 2.1mil or more then I would assume he's block to make the roster this year, but you never know...

I have no doubt this will be a better team than last year
This will be a better team that with Telesco/Staley as the HC/GM
and most likely a better team than with any other combo of HC/GM they could have hired

Just not ready to say they are winning 13 games during the regular season and winning playoff games.
But I see a team with a vision heading in the right direction

Harbaugh doesn't fuck around, his teams come out of the gate hard and fast...it will not surprise me in the least if this team goes to the playoffs and maybe even wins a playoff game...the over on 10-11 wins seems plausible to me...
