He caught 108 passes last year. No signs of slowing down with the style he plays. He's not catching 108 with Chicago.
But that's because Herbert won't be his Qb. He's still going to put up good numbers for Chicago. They got a bargin
for a 4th rounder. Understand this is a move Hortiz wanted to make in order to free up more money. Let's see what
he does with it. So far it's our loss and Chicago who gains.
    Thanks for clarifying.

Yes its painful to lose Keenan, but truly did anyone think JH2 was going to clean up this mess and get the team better situated moving forward without some pain and hard decisions? Four players took up a ridiculous 58% of the Chargers cap.

The players who really wanted to be Chargers and work with Harbaugh to build a winner here stepped up and contributed to the process.

The wounds are deep for many with this team but come on we haven’t even played a game yet. We’re ranging from fire Harbaugh and Horitz to multiple Super Bowls.

I think we’ll be fine and this is going to be a busy offseason with a lot of fans catching feelings as they’re not done yet.

Harbaugh was brought in to change a roster that hasn't won a division title in 15 years. That involves CHANGE.

The players in the big 4 that wanted to stay in LA, chose to work with the Chargers and stay. Keenan refused to work with the Chargers on a contract and cap hit that made sense for the team. He wanted his money above all and obviously he wanted a change of scenery.
I thought people wanting Staley to be fired when he just got the Chargers back in the playoffs after 4 years was ridiculous. I get the hate because of the playoff collapse, but still. That's moot now with him gone.

Staley got railed on for the playoff loss and users venting on him. Why not let those who feel frustrated by what Harbaugh and Hortiz has done have their turn?

KA wanted to stay a Charger. But that changed when he talked with the new regime.

That is a good point to make.

Since none of us are buddies with Keenan and know what is going through his mind, maybe it is possible he just didn't buy in to the new Harbaugh culture and plan and wanted a change of scenery. I know this...if Keenan Allen totally bought into winning under Harbaugh and truly wanted to stay a Charger, he would still be here.

I added just a little to the title. I understand the sadness. But i dont want to get attacked for this outside of the forum. Some seem to think everything said here is a viewpoint i support. And i know this is just a venting thing. lol

I guess an upside is that 4th round pick is really a top of the 4th so really the first pick of the 4th….so thats a little extra value to not be forgotten. Isnt that the 1st pick on day 3? Get extra time and potential for trade value to gain extra picks.

i love me some Keenan but if those rumors are true him not being willing to help the team really made Keenan look like the nonteam player here. He had realistically 2 maybe 3 years left so getting a younger wr group with much less cost but potential has some upside. We just need to go get some talent out of this on the WR side. I expect an FA pickup for vet presence. Renfro?

its our new world…we werent expecting to stay status quo with Harbs and Hortiz were we? We just went from the most $$ paid for WRs to far far less. Budget management for sure.

i will judge this after the draft and FA to see what we end up with. I also think this is a multiyear strategy to right the ship so after year two i expect more of the full vision to be apparent.

                Lets ride!

I thought the same thing, but the final comp pick of Round 3 is #99. The 4th the Bolts got from the Bears is #111. Still a pretty good 4th Rounder, but not the first of the 3rd day.

I think they probably asked him to take a pay cut and he was like I thought yall wanted to talk extension.
You want to believe that? Ok.
I don't know either till something comes out more reliable than the tweet above.
Popper will let us know soon enough.

If they did ask him to restructure or extend and he said no. ...guess he didn't want to be here. Had to do something with him.
