Signing your own players you drafted and developed is quite different than signing others teams FA's. I hope you aren't saying we should have not signed Herbert to a big deal.

I can see Bosa being traded for a conditional 2 depending on playing time, but not a 2 outright. And it would be a late 2 also.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

(The condition being, he has to start at least 12 games?)
Oh heck yeah. 2 good seasons out of 8. Its been 3 years since the last good one.

It could be that Minter wants the EDGE set, with disguised blitzing.
That's what I am seeing and hearing.

Wait a minute this Minter dude had okay non-5 star edge rushers, had them set the edge as base look, disguise /how/when they blitzed which fooled the crap out of offenses?

This also happens to be James' strength.

Minter blitzed with DB's and LB's (Colson). Stunted the DT's a lot, too.
In those instances, he dropped one (if not both) OLB's into coverage... at least last year.

Both of Michigan's edge players typically go in the late rounds (mocks).

The big question... will he get away with that in the NFL...? Is that his draft strategy...?
If so, then LB's and DT's will be more coveted than edge players during the draft for the LAC.

Derwin definitely fits the blitzing DB role. But if they send him, the edge will bracket that WR/TE to the inside.

the big moves are coming. i am hoping the delay is due to around-the-clock work on getting the best outcomes for the big 4 cap guys (bosa, mack, keenan, MW).

restructure / trade / pay cut / whatever.

AK, this is what we are looking for in our offensive linemen.

Stick around and you will learn something...

Tuli had good run stopping scores if I recall as did Mack (might be gone). Damn too bad we don't have Tranquil.

Tranquil was good at defending the pass but a liability stopping the run. Minter will want his LB's to be good at both.
