Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

And in reality, the true cap savings is like $400k as they will be paying somebody on the roster at worst the league minimum. Now, if they do it - I won't lose a wink of sleep but I do think have to at least get through OTAs and off-season drills.

Ben Herbert has many players to work with : Rumph and Matlock but I think Woods too.
Agreed . . . . . . . . . . We really don't know what we have in these 2 guys. Let's find out before we toss them. I never really understood Wood's issues last year - it was presented as an illness but I don't remember seeing much in the way of details???

No hurry. They're cheap. OTAs 4-1 approx. coaches and players do some field work.

            I'll bet on the under. He'll get $1.6M - $2.4M APY max

We all love Rolf, I'll never forget the time he walked out to midfield with Big Louie holding his hand, frail but joyful. but go back and look at his stats and its nowhere close to modern kickers. he was a 70% kicker. Maybe footballs were less round and more wobbly back then, idunno, because that was very good in his day.

70% kickers are fired before a team's bye nowadays.

We should be expecting Hortiz to wait.

We may not get a Center until after the draft, or even not until after Week One !

2 low priced FA vets I would like to see the Chargers bring in are Jerry Jacobs, CB, Lions and Quandre Diggs, S, Seattle. I think both will be a good fit with the Chargers. Both are very physical players and shouldn't break the bank.

It seems most are looking at the expensive FAs to fill spots, but the Chargers need depth as well and will need to look a FAncy to help create that depth. I think these 2 could be starters but a minimum they will create that much need depth.

I am only looking at 1 expensive FA position: IDL

                      - Chris Jones
                      - Justin Madubuike
                      - Christian Wilkins

Probably will decide to not afford any of them. I'd look for value to fill elsewhere on the roster.

I think the 2 guys I mentioned would be good value to fill some of the roster spots. We need a CB and Safety. They may be able to get and expensive FA but that would depend how far they go under the cap. FYI, I'm not against expensive FA signings if it makes sense. IDL makes sense.

Jones is probably going back to KC
Madubuike was franchised by the Ravens
So yes, Wilkins would be worth talking too
