Yep and im also not ok with Dobbins getting paid big and being the guy. He's just too fragile and if we lose him we are done. He also didnt look right post injury. Guts though. Im drafting TE/RB/WR. Putting money in the trenches. Id be fine with the DBs and Poona coming back as well. If we sign Dobbins back him up with a Mike Turner type. Hampton would be nice.

Looking at TE/RB/EDGE early. DT. Mack and Bosa are likely done. I would think maybe Mack comes back on a discount at age 33. But still watching him and Bosa try and chase down flushed QBs is painful. Texans struggled this season mightily. But have been built for playoff success and it showed.

Run the ball. Stop the run. Get after the QB. Easy for them.

Biggest priority FA to me of the players on the roster. Probably won't break the bank and just had a very solid year.

Do you pick an ED in the first and ignore a drastic need for Herbert to have another productive target?

We always have too many #1 needs. We are never just filling out the squad.

We need 2 more years of good drafting and finding good FA's before we fix that problem. This is another reason TT was a horrible GM he was always playing catch up with the roster.

Even though there are question marks on defense with pending free agents like Ford, Tart, of course how Mack and Bosa play out - but I think, between free agency and draft, figure out the four main needs on offense

On defense, yes, Edge will be a need but who knows - if it needs to be R1
Look at Zach Baun on the Eagles -- he was a special teamer on the Saints and now pro bowler with the Eagles. Maybe Minter can work some magic getting a guy from another team better suited to his scheme. Worked with Poona Ford and Tartt.

Troy Dye was a STer with the Vikings. He worked out pretty well at LBer in Minter's defense. Would be happy if they could get Josh Sweat Edge from the Eagles but they need to fix the offense first.

I love Mack. But when he and Joey get close...and QBs flush out...they are so damn slow chasing down. Joey could eventually move inside with his hands. Mack is solid still but for a team that has a fairly low blitz rate...we need to maximize our push with 4. Which means we may need to get younger and faster on the DL. i like Ford. Bosa and Mack do well against guys that are somewhat stationary..but getting around them with legs isnt all that hard. May have to draft a speed rush guy. If we bring back Mack we need to draft or sign a DT that gets after QBs. Also need to work on run defense as its hard to overcome that in the postseason.

Mack is 34 next year. It would have to be on a discount imo. Which he may do if he is happy here. But as far as aging vets go....Mack...Keenan...Zeitler etc. All have game still.

I wouldn't mind keeping Mack in the rotation and for depth in case of injury to another of our edges...but agree we need to draft or sign another pass rusher or two...but I think Bosa is a goner...

Yeah Bosa just wont give you the production for the amount he likely costs. Bosa has to be cut for cap savings. Mack is still playing well enough to get paid decent money. Its to bad he is a void year guy because that means he nets us nothing in comp picks.

Be nice if our assistant GM got some looks at GM. That would bring us some nice comp.
