Yeah, not the flip i boldly predicted as the former mayor of Boltville. Ruined my once-promising political career, ended up resigning and running for Port Commissioner of Bolt Harbor. Its an ok gig, just not the same.

I guess I didn’t’ unburden myself from what had been. Lesson learned the hard way tharrr.

I would pick Mack over Bosa at this point - I think he is a better player and mentor. I like the idea of a one year deal

But I don't think they can bring both back and premium dollars -- as with their ages, probably best to not have them be full time starters. So maybe Sweat from the Eagles would be a nice pick up

Both have made a lot of money in their careers. Maybe they'd be willing to accept a discount to play together another season with the Chargers with the chance of accomplishing something special, especially if this season ends on a high note, like making it to the divisional round or beyond. Both have played for mostly sucky franchises, staying with the Chargers would give them the opportunity to win something before they go out.

You're right I thought it was a 2-yr deal. Anyway, I would still work with him to sign him for another year. He is still playing at an elite level. Like I said if he wants to still play, he will likely want to stay to chase that championship here.

Whether they let Bosa go or bring him back I would love them to sign Josh Sweat. He could replace either Bosa or Mack after next year. Sweat might cost too much though.

No prob, Mac...Port Commissioner is an important post...this is the official who decides which ships to allow into port, via the draft and FA signings, and which ships are too expensive to maintain, and to allow them to set sail...and in this offseason, I think we'll have a LOT of traffic...BOTH ways...

Bosa is finished. He’s always injured and for that reason I wouldn’t waste a precious roster spot on him.

I don’t mean it as disrespect towards him. He can’t help it. It’s just what it is.

I wonder if there is ANY chance SF would want to pair him with Nick Bosa? Likely our only trade scenario. Probably wishful thinking but if we could somehow get Renardo Green out of it along with a late pick....even toss in Ja Sir Taylor.

I would like to see SF ask Nick if he's willing to put his money where his mouth is.

Nick could pay Joey's salary if he doesn't meet some statistical threshold which might include games played and sacks/pressures/tackles.

We could find out how much Nick really believes in his brother.

The cap can always be managed - especially with how so many contracts in the NFL are backloaded. The Niners signed Hargraves the DT a couple years ago - teams can make the math work

Identify the right player for the scheme -- if Sweat is that guy

At this point, probably seeing if I can get Mack back on a two year deal and signing a player like Sweat. Bosa -- take your talents to San Fran

I guess my point is I would want to make sure they have a replacement in place before they let Bosa go.

With Bosa -- it is not that easy because he has a $12.5m roster bonus due the first day of the league year. They are kind of stuck in that a decision needs to be made before the league year. Now, Bosa can push that back or they can negotiate a new contract. But, unlike Pipkins, there is a time line to follow.
