not the 1.26m - they have to pay somebody on the roster

At that point - they can operate the league year:
Priority #2: What do with Mack, Bosa and MW. If they release MW and June 1, Bosa, they are now $43m under the cap without touching Mack, Herbert or James.
43m under would leave about $25m in free agency without pushing anymore money to the future
IF, you still need money, you can always circle back to James and Herbert but I am not sure the chargers will be big players in free agency. Too many holes to fill
As I said earlier - if I am keeping both Mack and Allen, with the new money, I am only extending Allen, letting Mack play out his contract.
they are going to need a bit of money to keep Gilman, maybe resign Everett, and to go after a veteran Center...there just too many holes on the roster to try and fill them all in this one draft...
even if you push 11mil in dead space for Mack into 2025 you are still getting a net gain of 14mil in cap space in 2025 and Mack can hit FA next year and bring us a decent comp in 2026..."The author assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions in the content of this post. I'm not a capologist but 2024 doesn't feel like the time to push Herbert cap ... 2026 is where they might restructure his cap and extend again?
Mahomes cap hit in 2024 is $59M for comparison, and stays at ~$60M for the next 4 years.“Less is more? NO NO NO - MORE is MORE!”

Just move on, there’s nothing to see here.
We are going to be highly competitive this year.
Besides the fact that MW and Mack are on their last year and can’t be restructured.

Second, I am not pushing cap unless I need to push cap. Granted, the dollars roll over but why create cap dollars unless you need to use the dollars.
Regarding Mack - if the right player comes along, sure - I can rework his contract, give him void years - but truly, if you are signing Mack for one year - let him go now and sign somebody that you are signing for the future., not just one year
Lastly, yhou have just pushed a shit load of cap to 2025 and beyond - serious question - won't you want the money in a year or two when they might actually be in position to win a Super Bowl and not compete for the 7th spot in the AFC
