I dont know about "loaded" but i think we have more talent overall. Im one who likes Palmer more than most here. He runs good routes but he is no Keenan,......few are.

You're annual "poached" prediction is way early this year though lol. Who will it be this years Bandy or Dotson? Was T-Billy ever on that list? Or Ffrench or KJ Hill? Hard to keep up with all your poached candidates lol.

Loaded? all I read on here is how shit our group is compared to what we had...

Love McConkey, but is he durable (?) is my concern...

I feel we haven't seen what QJ is capable of but still questions there...

I like Palmer but can he be the guy(?) and not sure he's even around after 2024...

I like Davis but see him as return specialist more than a WR...

Chark I'm not sure what to expect there, I thought he was a good player earlier in his career but he's become a journeyman so not sure he's around past 2024...

I'm intrigued about Rice, I think he could make Palmer expendable but still needs to prove it in the NFL...

Johnson seems like a practice squad guy, even people that watched Michigan have said he has some serious drop issues, love the blocking, the size etc...can he develop?

so assuming we carry six going into 2024 Ladd, Palmer, QJ, Davis, Chark, and Rice...two of those guys will be free agents in 2024 and Davis is a KR, that means even if in a best case scenario and Johnson doesn't get poached from the practice squad you're returning 5 guys for 2025 and will have a better idea if QJ is in the long term plan or even if Ladd is able to hold up for an entire season, did Rice show anything etc...

so IMO there is a chance that either Mike Williams or Keenan could be brought back in 2025, not both but maybe one of the two...

Lol. i’m childish, ego driven, weak ass, insecure. Gotcha. You’re right I was wrong that they picked Alt at 5, I guessed predraft they would take a skill or trade down to spend “less” on RG. But i also said before draft that I’d be A-ok if they take Alt, and I’m still fine with their work. So it’s not like I stood around banging on the table about the pick.

I LOVED they grabbed Ladd next as I called him out ahead of the draft as the top Tier 2 target for the chargers - that was a huge prediction of mine that almost no one else had so yeah, we get some right and some wrong and yessir - I was wrong about Alt and I have no problem saying that. Have never had a problem with it, my ego is ok

So who’s got the ego obsession? I didn’t spend a hundred posts all crittied up insisting I am still right and that coaches are all wrong and gosh darnit I’ll take the field myself as I’m better than Pipkins and … and … and … lol . We don’t need to pretend to psych eval each other here bro - you dont know me and I don’t know you.

Coaches have named their Starting OL and Pip is starting. OC said he’s done an amazing job, shining star, real bright spot, so you’re imaginary theory that he really hates Pipkins at RG has no basis. It’s not my prediction anymore that Pip is starting at RG. It’s team announcement. Why you gotta keep beefing here with me when the team has.announced it?

long term is what? Who said he was a “long term” answer? I said 2024 opening day starting RG. Barring injury, thats still my bet.

          Critty ain’t taking no field
Ego driven and ego obsession is an interesting choice of words for a forum,....considering no one here has a scout pedigree or gets paid for our opinions....though i think some are better than the ones that actually DO get paid for their stupid opinions and some of the podcasters as well.

In any case, ....i dont think anyone has a "problem" with Pipkins being named the starter right now or IF he wins the job in TC or Preseason. We want the best 5. I think it is just we have watched him be so bad and then mediocre for so long. its hard to imagine the praise.

Its like watching Stick all this time and hearing them say if Herbert goes down, we are in very good hands and we wont miss a beat. Well we got a taste of that beat last year. It wasnt horrible but it sure wasnt good either and we all would likely be screaming to make a trade for a QB if Herbert went down.

We just arent sold till we see Pipkins do it and do it well in preseason against some 1's. And ill add, we need to see Zion be better as well.

However, if he plays well, they will probably keep him for the third year of his deal, ending after the 2025 season...also, Zion's deal runs out in 2025...so that's two OG positions the Bolts will need to decide about at the same time...I'm guessing the Bolts hedge their bets by drafting OG (maybe even a C-G) early next draft, to give them some depth and wiggle room in case either Pip or Zion ask for too much $$$...and that's when Trader Joe might play the comp game again...hopefully they both produce, agree to a reasonable extension, and we can keep them...
Zion has a 5th year option that they could choose to use on him, right now I don't see that option happening but I'm very hopeful that he changes my mind this season...same type of thing goes for Trey, he needs to show it on the field, if he excels at RG like the coaches envision then he's playing out his deal would be my guess...and also how well will Bozeman bounce back? is there a chance he get's extended after 2024? IDK

so the best case scenario and IF both Zion and Trey pan out at the guard positions they still have Trey thru 2025 and Zion thru 2026...they might still choose to take an IOL player high next season just because both Bozeman and Jaimes will be free agents in 2025 offseason, but they also still also have Salyer thru 2025 season...

so depending on how they play in 2024, there could still be some big changes coming to the interior of the O-line in the next 2 years...and this staff has already proven that they'll throw draft capital at the offensive line which is something that I've been screaming for during the past TT era, god that was fucking frustrating year in year out with his fucked up patched up junk yard discount fucking groups that he put together year after fucking year...

I also heard this same stuff years ago about a WR who was supposedly having a great camp and the Chargers website did a whole article of how was on the rise and about to break out. And I thought that guy is JAG. I don't see what their selling. I posted on the message boards I didn't buy it and most said hey the coaches and front office do this for a living, so trust them. I said understand your point and I can totally be incorrect in my assessment but I'm not buying it because my thoughts about what I see are he is not anything special. He ended up cut and not even making the 53 roster. And of course the fans that took so much pleasure in posting how off I was in my take went on to a next drum to beat. And of course if they were correct then they get to beat the I was right, I told you so drum.

Why anyone cares I'm not sold Pipkins will keep that RG job he is getting first dibs on is sort of like all the arguing I got about Alt. And then people would say Hortiz said Nabors best WR ever scouted. And we just move on from Williams and Allen....so you will be wrong and us who favor WR or Bowers will be correct and will enjoy rubbing it in.

Well that didn't happen. And now I have provided you bolt fans who are Pipkins believers with a other opportunity to gloat if and when Pipkins performance keeps him as the RG. I could care less if I'm right. I do think best 5 OL is what every HC is doing. Best 53. This is not new to being a HC.

So. Make it happen Pipkins. Be the RG and be a great one.
I'm still going bet the field ends up RG. I'm still betting Pipkins want be a Charger next year. And might be the surprise cut off of the 53 roster for you all.

I stuck with Joe Alt #5 regardless of all the posts at me about it being incorrect to pick him. And I'm sticking with the field over Pipkins.

Maybe you and Dmac can get over yourselves and realize some fans opinions of things differ from yours no matter how you try to sell it or even follow up with smack talk and then call it joking. It a thin disguise for finding a way to throw tomato at what you don't agree with. And that is okay. Have at it. I can be an easy target for those who need to throw things. I put myself out on limbs so I am easy to see out there by myself....a few other TPB members and Bolts fans join me on that limb from time to time. There is space and fresh air and a different viewpoint out here. You can join. You wont get hurt. Your pride can take the fall if the limb breaks.

You have Pipkins as RG and he seems to have the inside track for the job and and you have solid reasons. And if it happens you get to say see I told you so and feel great for a split second or however long the ego trip lasts.

I am still taking the field for the RG spot.

              BTFU!!!!!!!
Don't get frustrated, we're all Charger fans here, it's okay to have different opinions...for the time being the Pipkins thing is not an opinion anymore, he has beaten Salyer out for the RG spot as of right now, but that just means that Salyer has some time to catch up and show the coaches he can become the player that they want him to be...this could all still be a way to light a very big fire under a very large ass...does that come about before the 2024 season? IDK, we'll see, good coaches find ways to motivate all types of personalities, 2024 could be Slayer's year in purgatory only to see him blossom into something special in 2025, time will tell...

The starting OL is PROBABLY going to be as named. But whatever occurs on occasion. Believe it when we see it.

Zion looks like he could shotput Chris Jones 5 yds or so. Looks can be deceiving. .

                    Bring back the Herbatron.
the chargers would be smart to post Herbert throwing 50 yard bombs all offseason, it's the type of thing that will help establish the run game

I believe at this time Harbaugh likes Trey Pipkins as an option for the starting right guard spot. I don't believe he is actually telling the truth when he states Pipkins is an outstanding tackle and outstanding guard. I don't know why Harbaugh is saying that. Maybe it's simply to build up Pipkins' confidence. Maybe he is doing all of this to motivate Salyer, who may need a push to reach his potential (just speculating; I don't know this). But I don't know how anyone can look at Trey Pipkins and say he's outstanding.

What you suggest would mean this is just another crap wannabe year. I won't believe it till I see it.
