Bozeman + Alt is by far an upgrade vs Clapp + Pip

I think he may be more valuable there.

So let them compete. I have no skin in the game... I have no favorite here.
          Neither do I.

Throwing people like Salyer out there who are not ready, without time to develop and acclimate to the scheme and the NFL was a Telesco thing,
since it happened under McCoy, Lynn and Staley.

Marty and Norv would have told Telesco to go pound salt many times.

Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

I suspect that Dobbins video to be old, but fun nonetheless.

Pip could be awful at RG for all we know and if he is, he might get traded or cut since it's after June 1st.

TC and preseason will tell us more. OTAs tell us nothing.
No need to guess, like Sgt. Oddball said, "have a little faith" I believe the O-line and the whole team will be better coached, period...I also believe that Salyer and McFadden will make a jump, but IMO they won't be making that jump alone, I think they are all making like a "band of brothers" type big jump in 2024 and that includes Slater, Johnson, Jaimes, and yes, even Pipkins...the O-line is going to be one of the strengths of the this 2024 team, there is a real nice blend of talent, experience, and youth on this O-line too, so the next 2-3 years could be special as well...

He's now switching positions and has no experience at guard in the NFL. I wouldn't say it's anyone's job to lose right now.
Salyer wasn't the only one playing under a bad coaching staff...and I think Trey's experience at RT gives him an edge on how to play at RG because as a RT he's in the know on what's expected on how to best support the RT position...we'll see if my theory holds water but over the last several weeks it's the best I could come up with that even begins to makes sense to me after wondering for weeks why the hell is Harbaugh talking about moving Pip to RG? and he was first alluding to it even before the draft...it's also possible that Jim and Ortiz saw something on 2023 tape that they felt translated to Pipkins making the move successfully...the key thing that was said was finding a way to "play our 5 best" so that's key because they must think that Pipkins is better than Salyer, I know that seems inconceivable to many here on this forum, not me because I've seen Trey put in the work and he's so much better than he was before Slater got drafted, Rashawn rescued Trey's career IMO...

we'll see what turns out to be true in the end, otherwise the team could stand to save like 6.5 mil in cap space before final cuts as someone out there will most likely be looking for a RT...

We have seen OTAs for many years and them and even TC is a time to experiment with some guys and get them acclimated and see if they can do it or not in preseason.
Trey still has to prove he can make the transition, that much is very true, the fact that this coaching staff believes he can do this gives me a lot of confidence that he will, this is not Lynn or Staley's staff, this is a Jim Harbaugh staff...so bearing that in mind, yeah, this means something to me, I can't discount it as easily as you have...

                        Fouts2herbert what is meant by...

"I've seen Trey put in the work"
                        and
"they must think Pipkins is better than Salyer"
                        and
"this coaching staff believes he can do it"

                        ???

These are rather dramatic comments and foundation is needed.

i say there is still lots of work for all these guys to do, before we see how it shakes out at ORG.

Wait...did you say "someone out there will most likely be looking for a RT." ??

Ha ! Yeah, as mentioned a long time ago, the Raiders. Does anyone think Hortiz would not trade with Telesco ?

The point that "OTAs don't mean shit" stands until proven otherwise, or at least until dmac hits us with 10,000 more words.

I've seen Jamaree "put in the work" with Ben.

All Harbaugh wants is some sort of a quality ORG to emerge from this competition.

Trey's trade value will increase from the fact that he can also play ORG now.

                        Get comfortable with being uncomfortable.

did anyone notice the story about who was at the Zach Ryan concert with Justin Herbert? I read that he crashed the staged towards the end of the concert with some of his O-linemen, Slater was there, Bozeman was there, Joe Alt was there, and Trey Pipkins was with them along with some Ram's players too...does it mean anything that Pipkins was there too? IDK, just thought it was interesting that 4 of the projected starters at O-line were hanging out with Herbs at a concert...probably doesn't mean shit tho...
