If we don't draft Bowers there's always Ben Sinnott or AJ Barner! We'll be just fine at TE! Really excited to see what Herbert's work out program does to Donald Parham's game!

Hurst is 30. Was a 24 yr old rookie. He is a move, pass catching TE. Not a great blocker but gives effort. He had a scary wierd injury late last season -- something like amnesia after getting hit or such. He was released so not a comp off set. Probably pretty cheap, Hortiz and Roman and the TE coach know him and fills a need. He is worlds better than Stone Smartt whose spot he is likely taking on the roster.

I liked him as a Bengal best.

Injuries mostly. I think we still keep Parham.

He is not a good blocker and drops a lot of passes. Also seems to be injured every year. His cap hit is nominal so they might keep him on the roster for that reason.

Got to see a lot of him at South Carolina. He was older coming out of college, because he was playing minor league baseball and he's taken a beating. If he has anything left, he's a helluva an athlete. IF being the key.

I think for most of the positions - its more stop gap or better depth than last year but the draft is really where the starters, I hope come from at the start of the season. I just don't want Clapp back so if thats Bozeman or Cole, thats fine

IDL and LB - eesh. No depth on the roster at all

Side note: Hayden Hurst, TE, signing with the Chargers. This might be the end of the road for Donald Parham

Im a skeptic. Its looks like a rumor but Hurst had a bad concussion last season in Nov and did not play again the rest of the season as he was dianosed with Post Traumatic Amnesia. It isnt career threatening but he is 30 coming off that. He isnt really a TE1 type either. But agree, he fits better than Parham who if we sign Hurst, Parham could be cut.

Id still draft Bowers regardless if we sign Hurst or not. Bowers is the ultimate TE1 we need.

Parham is a better receiving threat than Hurst. He's cheap and Roman knows him. That's about it. This just means we're not going to have
a Gates like presence at TE.

As a Bengal, he was a fiery, physical player. Don't know if he can still be that guy. Sounds like he had a rough season in Carolina.
