wouldn't have to pay the roster bonus. Something tells me we may see movement on Bosa before Saturday.
I mean, if a team wants the Chargers to pay $7m but they are offering a 2025 FRP - that would be something to ponder
Just not sure a team would offer that for Bosa - meaning an unconditional FRP.

I’m always a fan of Mack. Glad he is staying.

To me, Mack restructuring instead of wanting to be traded to a contender tells me he believes in the future of the Bolts. He’s the 2nd or 3rd best player on the team and I’m sure he wants to go out a winner.

Im good with letting Bosa go. Onwards to a better future.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

I worry that Mack is going to slow down considerably here (he already has), but he is a dependable veteran and a great locker room guy, leader. Plus he strikes me as a Harbaugh kind of player.

All in all, glad to have him stick around.

One of Hortiz’s first moves was to tender Foster Sarell. What does that say? Obviously they felt he was important.

If they draft an OT, wouldn't Sarell be PSed? Is he good with Pipkins/Sarell as tackles without upgrades needed? Has WR/ED become our major position of need in the draft?

Glad they kept Mack. Good role-model, plays hard every game. I'm actually thinking he's going to have a better year than last. Hope they can still find a way to keep Keenan.

I actually wondered if Mack might feel like he has played too long and been too good to buy in to Harbaugh's schtick. But I am glad I was wondering incorrectly.

Reminds me of a story when Marty first came to our team and in a meeting some players were snickering at his cliches. Seau, who by then was a superstar and unquestioned team leader, stood up and called them out and said he, for one, is buying in to everything Marty says because he is a winner.

The rest is history and the winning started.

Sarell was on the Ravens roster at one point. So Hortiz knows him. And his tender has to be basically peanuts?

and if they do enough with Macks contract - meaning push out $15-18m - they don't have to touch Allen's contract
They should anyways. Extend him 2 years with 1 voidable. Saves even more. The more the better.

                        cut fox. 3.5mil

                        restructure Derwin 9mil

                        restructure Herbert 5.7 mil
I don't think that would be too smart. We don't want to make Herbs cap hits after this season bigger than they will already be and Derwin starts his extension this year.
I don't think we will or should touch those.

C'mon man--you gotta respect what Mack is doin' .
I would stretch out Slayer several more years.
