If we get a 2 for Bosa, I'll (happily) eat my hat.

Seriously that would be incredible 😲

That means the pick would be for 2025. Rather have a pick this year.

restructure / trade / pay cut / whatever.
The prevailing wisdom was that Mike Williams would be released, save the $20m -- and that could get the team close to cap compliant which would allow the team to work with Bosa and Mack when the league year opens. But if Williams is also a candidate to be traded - that means they have to find the funds in other ways

            1) Allen extension - but that still leaves 6-8m
            2) cut Morgan Fox - - that would still leave 3-4m
            3) restructure a contract like James to get under the cap

At that point be cap compliant to trade Mike Williams and figure out what to do with Mack and Bosa

Plenty of rumors of trades --if the Chargers get day 2 picks for Bosa &/or Mack and a day 3 pick for Mike Williams - that really could change how they use pick 5. As they will be at 11 picks heading into the draft.

Chargers also would be in the market for at least one Edge Rusher - but pretty sure they would be able to pivot and add in free agency as they will be so far under the cap - 65m in total but after paying draft picks and in season fund - well over $45m in free agency so Edge could be found

This is silly...with his current pay structure he has NO TRADE VALUE! Stop trying to get a mouse fart pick and just let him walk if he's really not eager to massively reduce his pay for 2024.

2 #2 picks and 2 #3 picks. I'm guessing one of those #2 picks (#37) will be Jenkin's if he is there. The 2nd pick in rnd 2 will probably be Colson or CB. If they go CB then one of those 3 rnd picks will likely be Colson if he is there and maybe RB or Center for their 2nd 3rd round pick. These are just guesses.

First - -never said he was getting traded - just the process if he is traded. And really the only talk of Williams was a Browns beat reporter suggesting it.

Second - if he is traded he will take a pay cut and that is why there is a process -- the team trading for him and Williams would have to agree to a new contract. Same with Bosa, same with Mack.

Hence the Chargers are working through the process - they don't need to do anything until the morning of March 13

I wouldn't say he has no trade value. If a team wanted to take a chance on him might make a trade for him instead of waiting for him to be cut. This would prevent him from going somewhere else or get into a bidding for his services. I think the likely hood of this happening is low but it is possible.

And as the writer, Mark Kay Cabot pointed out, maybe MW would want to play with his old teammate in Cleveland. Monday and Tuesday is the legal tampering period - it will allow MW to gauge his value with other teams. Well if the Chargers let him and I am sure they will.

Updated; Jerry Jeudy to the Browns. Broncos are rebuilding. The Browns are sending 5th and 6th round picks for Jeudy

So the MW to the Browns from the beat writer, not happening. And based on what Jeudy got, the chances of the Chargers getting anything for Williams is between slim and none
