I posted almost exactly the same sentiment in another thread. We're witnessing a CULTURE change here. That doesn't happen by doing the same shit that TT and company have practiced for the past 10 years. How'd that work for us?

I don't think its fair to tag Slayer with the "didnt win anything" label. He wasn't ever the reason for that. Lack of a serious WR2 most of the time, pass protection most of his career, run game, and decent defense were all much bigger factors that he had no control over and couldn't affect. His culture was always fine.

I am ok with their move, though.

I think something big is about to happen with the Chargers. Why would they ask KA to take a pay cut/restructure when they were already around 20m under the cap? And why did it need to happen now? They had more than enough cap to sign any FA that is currently on the open market and enough to sign the draft picks with some left over.

It sounds like they needed the money now. Makes me think they may make a trade for a player. Not necessarily saying it's JJ but it could be anyone at this point. It's kind of strange that the Vikings make a trade to acquire another 1st round pick and the Chargers trade KA when they really didn't need to because if they asked him to take a pay cut/restructure which leads to believe they wanted to keep him. Also, by KA not taking the pay cut/restructure indicates to me that he wanted to leave, why?

There’s no collusion. If MH2 dad is telling them his son isn’t playing in AZ, I’m sure there’s been a call to Hortiz to say,
“Hey, this guy doesn’t want to play here, can we just do a conciliatory, minor trade amongst ourselves and swap 4 and 5 and you guys get MH2 and we’ll just take Nabers whom we like anyways at 5…..say a 4th round pick…?”

Thst way AZ saves a bit of face in it all..

The big reason they had to get it done was Allen had a $5m roster bonus due this week end - so they really didn't have time to wait as you don't want to pay the roster bonus and than figure out what to. So I think its more timing of the roster bonus than "something big is happening."

As for being $20m under the cap - that $20m will cover the draft picks, the practice squad and in-season emergency fund - or close to it.

Are the Chiefs WR's better then the current Chargers WR's?.......not really or much.... the differenece is having an elite TE who no one can cover.....

WR's have become way way too expensive and great CB's can eliminate shut them down......
