The $11M is still on the books, not accounted for. Since that's from his current contract you can't wipe that out.
So the cap hit becomes $11M + 2024 Salary + any prorated bonus. By your account $18M/3 or $6M

So $11M + 6M + minimum salary. Doesn't do us any good for Wednesday.
Keenan Allens current total cap hit is $34,717500
    Keenan Allen $18,100,000 $11,617,500 $0 $5,000,000 $0 $0 $0 $0 $34,717,500 $11,617,500 $23,100,00

Of that total, $11,617,500 is fixed - they cannot touch that

The other $23.1 can adjusted - if his contract extended. They can reduce by up to like 16-17m if Allen agrees too it. Allen gets paid up front, they amortize the rest, problem solved

Which combined with Mike Williams would give them $36m of cap space - easily enough to get cap compliant and sign Dissly, Gus and Gilman.

I knew he would be gone but I liked Everett. He played with toughness

That is an AAV of $6m so that would easily net another comp pick, probably in the 6th as its higher than Ekeler.

Ekeler and Gus cancel each other out.

Granted that means the Chargers are not signing another free agent to cancel either Everett or Murray out

With the ball in his hands, he could be a playmaker. However, he needed to have the ball in his hands to even contribute, he was a liability everywhere else.

I edited my original post. You are correct. We would save about $15M more or less if we re do Allen's contract as you put forward.

Agree. At times it seemed like he was the only one playing with toughness.

More than I'd have given him.
Another comp pick. 6th id guess but it's too early and other FAs will be signed.
Need some team to sign Tostada and Austin Johnson.

JoJo fucked us by cutting SJD. Didn't need to do that.

I'm sure we will sign another FA or two at some point. At least some cap casualties as teams sign others.

I feel like he was a 4th receiver out there with maybe 3-4 catches per game. Just an over priced JAG at this point and time.

With all our players being signed away coupled with our cap room, do we have any choice at this point in trading pick 5 for more picks?!

No, SJD still had one more year left on his contract. He would have been a cap casualty this off-season - probably.

But you are correct, if Vato can get something like $4m+ - -that would give the team three potential comp picks for Murray, Everett and Ek or Vato
