Most Qb's have trouble dealing with pressure from the interior, there's really nowhere to step up unless a Qb just bails out of the pocket repeatedly which isn't a good habit to have.

He's probably going to need to get rid of the ball faster to deal with it but the issue with that is Ladd is about the only one of the group that can get separation quickly.

There probably isn't going to be an ideal solution to this for this season unless the IOL plays better and the Qb intentionally gets the ball out faster than usual.

Which is going to lead to picks. Herbert has really taken care of the ball. One of the best in the league at protecting the football. Picks are worse than sacks. This is an IOL & WR separation issue. Makes no sense to get rid of the ball quickly if nobody is open.

Yea, there isn't an ideal fix to this issue this season unless the IOL simply plays better and the Qb can help them out by getting the ball out faster but that obviously has some downside risk when he only has one player that can get open quickly.

I'll see it when I believe it. I did read a few weeks ago that Hortiz was going to target Higgins in the offseason. The WR is playing on a franchise tag this year and it's unlikely Cinn will tag him again. That way he doesn't give up any picks. To get Higgins now, he'd have to surrender a pick(s) to the Bengals.

If Higgins makes it to FA, he'll easily be the most expensive and coveted WR and there will likely be a lot of competition to sign him which would likely drive up his price. Trading for him costs draft capital but eliminates the bidding war.

I'm a bit conflicted on the player as he reminds me of a younger MW in play style, great at contested catches and can bully Db's, but he also gets dinged up often like MW missing multiple games in 3 of 4 1/2 seasons, which is a big consideration with the premium contract/picks he will cost.

It's a high risk/reward type of trade but if they feel he's clearly better than what they project they can get in the draft or FA then it makes some sense why they would take the chance.
