Just FYI here. This is a 2018 draft prospect write up on Luis Perez.

He obviously failed to 'wow' the scouts, but given his success in the minors, even his detractors would have to acknowledge that he's developed beyond where they had initially projected him.

the big plus is that he has held up well in live action in the UFL, etc. we just need him to come in and make a few plays.

Throws an accurate pass. Taller than the QBs on roster.
Maybe a Late bloomer. Didn't play any football until after high school.
I like him better than Stuck. If you going run, play defense and then throw. The Kid Perez could do that. Plus he is a Hortiz and Harbaugh addition now......the other QBs are former regime depth. Competitors welcome.
Who has it better than us?

            Hey Critty.

MVP in '23 XFL Championship Game.
            Passing leader '24 UFL season.
            He's money...at the pro level.
Today's transaction blurb describe Luis as direct competition for Easton as LAC QB#2.
            Sticklers protests have been heard.

I just took a quick look at some highlights.
He reads defenses, has vision, and throws a catchable deep ball.
The dude moves around in the pocket some and keeps his eyes downfield.
            I see a decisive quarterback.
            The athleticism is average.

So what happen at the QB depth?
Got Perez in here quick, not good for Stick.

Hortiz liked what he saw in Perez, apparently.

Duggan. I think Stick will hold his own against him and I haven't been a Stick supporter.

Let's keep in mind that Perez comes from a league that gave us Storm Norton and Parham that also performed well in it. XFL/UFL/AFL...same concept, only UFL exists now.

AJ McCarren didn't do much in the NFL and was pretty decent in the UFL this year as well.

It's a league filled with guys that got cut from NFL rosters and a handful are getting another chance.

Edge Vic Beasley was on Perez team this year and where Pokey Williams ended up after we cut him.

Just saying Im cautiously optimistic,.... but really not expecting much so the surprise will be more exciting if he is good lol.
I actually think Stick would be pretty decent in this league to be honest. I watched some of the UFL games this year.

Here is a list of former NFL and college players that were in the league.

Who cares? They've had their chance. Give the new kid one now too. Good for the Chargers. Good for the fans

Dugan, Bauman. Luis is a long way from being ready to play Herbert on O, which is what Stick has not impressed the fans at.
Maybe Luis gets it by just walking in the room but IMO, has a lot of work ahead. I'm not knocking his skill set, he's almost pro level and may make it. I wish him well.
We have a hell of a coaching staff.
So far, Stick has had no competition for #2.

In other news, here in LV the word is Raiders QBs Minshew and O'Connell have shown no separation of pulling ahead of the other for the QB job.

Both are inconsistent and for O'Connell having a year in the system isn't a good endorsement.
