    OK bluey, and fellow draftniks.
Here it is re my "weird ideas."
Ben Herbert says we must dig deeper
    in the next two months.

    #5 and Khalil's contract for #19, #51, #83.
Yes Bowers, the WRs, even Dallas Turner must be in play @ #5.
But we would be lucky to make this trade. It gives a chance to quickly build a Harbaugh type roster.
It is Mack who has the tradeable circumstances.

I think the Rams would bite.
    They have Giff for Mack.
    They have Kroenke's deep pocket
for extending Khalil to soften the cap hit.
    They have projected comp picks
    to cover losing their 2 & 3.

In looking at our OL I see a group of young players we need to ascend. That would involve coaching, weight training and a leader. Enter JPJ @ #19, just before Pittsburgh.

I do not sense that we are in the market for weapons.
I do not see TEs as having a particularly dynamic role, just roles that are specific.

    Darius Robinson @ #37.
    Perfect Slotting at mid 30s.
Minter likes big, long guys up front.
    This dude has inside/outside flexibility.
We want to move people around, stunting and rotating them for freshness.
Bosa, Tuli, DarRob, Fox, Okoye, Crumedy fit this mold.
There's a few fatties in the middle.

Junior Colson and Two Double Meat Arbys.
This slight overdraft of "our new Junior" is obvious to me. He will not be there @ #69 and is vital. Here's our consistent, mistake-free Green Dot, who already manages the Minter defense. Benson/Braelon are our "RBs."

Khyree @ #105 and Later Picks.
We have a screaming need for an Outside Corner and I choose this one. Barner, White, Jr, and Crumedy fill out our roster.

Finally, to be brief, I know you don't like many of my remaining personnel ideas at all. Good health, improvement and contract adjustments are not just assumed, but obviously also feed directly into mandatory for cap compliance with our existing available resources.

Easy now, I am guessing, just like all of you.
    Hortiz will be "Trader Joe."
There's always the late, late bargain vets, like Van Noy and Callahan once were.
WTF...are you saying we give up #5 and Mack for three lower picks?
Chiefs won the Superbowl with 10 Rookies....

Nice. His production hasn't been good since 2021. I'm talking about production in December enroute to ending the season. Production in first 4 games means squat.

agree..... droping from elite player at 5 to a so-so player at 19 is a bad move!

If Harbaugh and Ortiz do a great job, this will be the highest we will draft in the Herbert era!

We have the opportunity to take a generational player..... BAD organizations pass on those.....

Once you are a good to great team and are drafting toward the end of first round, THAT is when you trade down for more picks, because you are not drafting sure fire first rounders at that point!..... many on this board do not see the difference...... NE traded down alot because they were drafting at END of first round......same for BALT..... always drafting mid to late 20's or even 30's...

NEVER ever pass on elite players!...especially as rookies because they are cheap!

Turner, Verse, or Odunze would be there at #10-11 range. That's all the drop I can live with. The Rams would have Nabers plus Mack. How bleeping stupid would we look with that trade. Three chopped livers for two Filet Mignons.... I almost want to puke!

Agree.... I love Bowers and understand football enough to know that every offense has a great TE (final 4 teams in playoffs all had great TE's)......and Chargers have not had one since Gates, and have ZERO dependable TEs on the roster.....
BUT i will leave it to Harbaugh and Ortiz to decide which elite player we take at 5 or a few spots later....

#5 and Mack including his contract.
That is exactly what I am proposing.

              We play we-fense.

              "...three lower picks"
              will translate into
              Jackson Power-Johnson,
              Junior Colson
              and Braelon Allen.

              With our own remaining picks,
              we get
              Darius Robinson.
              Trey Benson.

This would be foundational to what
              Jim Harbaugh
              Greg Roman
              Jesse Minter
              will want to do.

              Here's a fun fact.
The other day, over at PFF Machine, no one was taking Jayden Daniels.
I kept trading down and trading down.
Ended up with like 20 picks.
Using absurdity to explain the absurd.

              Now back to reality.

              Get comfortable with being uncomfortable.

I don't think he would get past even #8 Atlanta let alone Jets, Minnesota, Denver and Oakland.

I love speed guys better than bullies at RB.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Wright is a little bit of a bully. A little Pacheco in there with a lot more speed.
                      I like that guy.

Wright is not just speed. His acceleration does remind me of Alvin Kamara (also a former Vol and about the same size). There is vision and pacing involved. An ability to get skinny through the hole.

I cannot wait to see Wright's Combine numbers. Kamara's ticket was a 1.54 10 yard split. Wright's long speed already gets him to the house.

I am guessing late round 2. Kamara was a steal at early round 3. All the buzz has us taking Blake Corum.

First the Rams own pick 52 and not 51 as they own 19 and 83

Second - why are you including Mack. The chargers can just release Mack and save the $23m. Or they can find another team and get likea 5th or 6th round pick. Granted, I think it should be higher but no reason to give him away

Third - the NFL Draft point chart shows the value of the 5th pick to be 1700 (exclusive of Mack). The value of those three picks is 1430. So well below value. For the 5th pick I want at least 10% over the nfl point chart -- if not more. Not less

So this would be a terrible trade
