I was and am all for moving out Keenan and Mike and going young, but a little perplexed that I keep hearing how crowded this room is. We have a bunch of guys who have done nothing in the NFL other than one 70 catch season from an injury prone Josh Palmer. There is a reason Chargers are still looking at veterans. It is a sound approach.
    Green Bay recievers are 2 seconds(Watson,Reed) a 4th(Doubs), a 5th(Wicks) and a 7th(Melton).

I had hopes for Reed but Hill was slow and underwhelming. I think Rice has more upside than both those guys. We'll see about CJ.

Good name. Much more affordable than Simmons at this point

I think if there is another signing - it will be DB related.

I think we need to just roll with what we've got. Why the fuck do we need to sign another receiver after we drafted one in the second round? The two in the 7th are gravy on top of the meal. We made our bed by drafting Alt instead of Nabers so deal with it as best as we can. My view is that if we don't have 5 rookies show up by the end of the season it wont matter anyways. See my message below about chiefs winning with 10 rookies. It's more important we gel as a team with 20 new players versus anything else. Waiting to sign an additional player won't tip the scales in our favor so just do the best with what we have. I see the two in the 7th round as not to shabby and are serviceable. Time to work hard and get everyone up to speed rather than worrying about trifling stuff.

Being #1 on this team is more a statement on a rebuilding WR group, not that he is a legit #2 NFL receiver. We went into this draft with arguably the weakest WR room in the NFL

I like that contested ball stat for CJ. I believe his win rate was over 80% in contested balls. So I want CJ to go deep a lot.

I get that Palmer is one of our best 2, I just think objectively he has not proven himself as a real legitimate #2 WR by good NFL standards. I like to keep it real even after post draft sugar plums dancing in many heads.

When Palmer had to play as our #1 he had trouble getting separation and defenses shut our passing game down pretty easily.

Maybe we're stronger than you think after the draft. Unless half our receivers have hands of stone we need discovery first. If QJ is 20% better and Ladd shows up it wont be as dire as some predict. Plus we have to add in the Harbo effect vs. the Kellen Moore effect. LOL!

Right - some of those lean years with the Padres, pick your pitcher was their "Number 1 starter." Well when you are a 65 win team and your number 1 is like 12-11 with an ERA over 4 - are you really a "NUMBER ONE STARTER"?

Josh is the best WR on the Chargers but leaguewide - is closer to WR2/3

We still might be GOOD ENOUGH with what we drafted. Stop Worrying and start playing.

Funny how so many here were dead set against a WR in the first, now we miss out on Boyd and we’re doomed? Really? The bolded part.
