Wilkins will get that much money

I am good if the Chargers stay out of that bidding war for Wilkins

I stand by my guess that the top 53 will have a roster turnover of 26-28 players...
Yep...just when we're climbing out of the cap hole, no use digging ourselves into more debt...if anything, draft DL...

A lot of rumors speculation thats for sure with the Popper speculation and now with the Lions. I thought Mack made sense - but I guess Bosa would too . They need Edge opposite Hutchinson. Three days until the legal tampering period. So "come Monday" it will be alright, and everything will come together

And the big thing is - you just don't want to miss like with JCJ and have a bunch of dead or bad cap down the road. For sure they need to draft IDL but I can see JH2 finding a lower cost but better than current IDL out there for cheaper- like an AAV well under $10m

I would have liked to see him on the 9ers. Slams his helmet on the ground - Staley picks it up...haha. Comedy.

If the Lions are desperate enough for another Edge, they may be willing to overlook Bosa's injury issues and hope he has a relatively healthy season...but to get a 2nd rounder would be better than we hoped...granted, it IS a LOW second rounder...but still, it IS a second rounder:

LOL...classic! And to top it off, Staley could induct Joey into his Birthday Boy Club!

I'll tell u, I am DONE with high-priced FA deals...at least until we get some cap breathing room...after that, I STILL think we're better off doing what the Ravens did...let those high-priced FA's go and stockpile the comp picks...or trade them for picks...

For that pick in the second round, that would accelerate his cap hit by $7.6m - but you are also getting a 2nd round pick and can work around that (maybe you push more money on Mack or even James) as the Lions can take on Bosa's contract without touching it. They have plenty of cap space to make the trade now. Not that teams like the Niners can't find the money but the Lions, its simple. And if they survey the NFL market for Edge -- might make sense to get a guy they know what his contract is going to be. Like I said, have always thought Mack was a fit - but Bosa is too.

I am okay with it too, Its exciting as heck but how often does it truly work. The Jags did it a couple years ago -- well for many years but a couple years ago they got the playoff win we can never forget. But other teams have "won free agency" and haven't done jack squat

Drafting well, getting a couple UDFAs - develop them both on the main roster and through the PS - and you always have cheap talent. Build from within

I say this knowing that on Monday I will be refreshing for news about signings but I am truly okay if Hortiz hangs back - gets the value free agents. I forget the year, but some team signed Marcus Washington, I think he went from the Colts to Washington for vice versa - big money. Same year, the Chargers signed Foley, Godfrey and Goff. I know Foley got hurt but he was undervalued his last team. Goff, just a solid player. Godfrey the same. Not flashy, just solid role players that add to your core. I am good with a few of those next week.

Yep...Lions are near the top for having a lot of cap space...Chargers...ouch...

Here is how all 32 NFL teams currently stand, keeping in mind that cap space is a constantly changing number as teams maneuver throughout the offseason.

I am fine with signing FA's...but I like the Ravens model of signing a lot of guys to 1-year "prove it" deals...then, if they perform, upgrade them, but don't go nuts on the compensation...if they want to leave, get a comp pick...
