I think you’re right and I’d love to see Derwin return to form. He’s the type of guy who responds to coaching and he sounded forlorn carrying the water for Staley. Which he did. He is a physical beast and we know he can make an impact. We’ve seen it before.

That’s the rumor. Even if it was true, when did it happen? If it’s during the season, then it makes sense why he deactivated everything.

... but if Jim comes around asking us, we know what to say. I keep Mack, jettison Joey. Mack is a start edge player, he should be a candidate for DPOY. He plays both run and pass well, he plays tough, strong, hard, relentless, ... he's a Harbaugh style of defensive player 100%. Creating the problem where we need 2 starting edge players is unwise in 2024 NFL imo. jmo.
