I know that the Referee (white hat) has the responsibility to watch for fouls on or by the QB, but in one of the views, I think I saw the Umpire (the second official behind the LOS), looking at the play as well. With all the TV cameras at this game, they really should have an official watching the replays that has an active input to the Referee. The 'I didn't see it' defense is obsolete.

I dont even buy the didn't see it stuff. I think given the time left they intentionally ate the flag. Like not calling a PI on a hail mary. Conscious decision type thing.

I have never liked seeing referees wearing earpieces. It questions the integrity of his control. Who is talking or advising him during the game?

Aztec basketball team loses to Loyola Chicago. Completely lackadaisical game with Pope and Hemsley missing in action. Only Kell showed up and kept it close. I think my Aztecs are reading too many press clippings and think they just have to show up. Embarrassing when a team with no starter taller than 6'6" eats you up in the paint. Add in the lazy effort where they lost virtually every 50-50 ball and you have another ugly loss that should not have happened.
