The Kyle Pitts comparisons are laughable.

Pitts has the height.

But Bowers is way more faster and way more explosive. I saw that at Florida. Never understood why people were enamored with Kyle Pitts he looked like Donald Parham to me.

Laporta looked slippery. Kincaid looked great.

but you look at the 49ers with Kittle.

our offense will be able to do so much.

And a lot of Bengals fans wanted Pineo Sua they gave up a record sacks. But they took some guy Chase and with Burrow went to a super bowl.

people forget Stetson Bennett isn’t our Quarterback his name is Justin Herbert and with Bowers we will be explosive.

it wasn't too long ago when most recognized that this was the smartest strategy to play to our strength, namely Herbert.
The best model out there is SFs offense, however imperfect, and we have a qb that has the skills and mental fortitude to get the ball to anywhere on the field.
it's literally an arms race!
Herbert has shown he can play patient, small ball under Lombardi
And/or deep bombs to guys like Tbilly and Guyton.
in fact, Herbert has shown just about every requisite skill a pro qb needs to run any offense.
Jim's job will be to protect JH and get his the best possible weapons to have a flexible offense that can do anything from grind it on the ground/westcoast offense to airing it out.
Woodeye presented a video on how modern defenses are able to win against modern offenses, the antidote to that are dangerous skill guys and a smart qb to make the best decisions.

Bowers with Herbert absolutely has a chance to be in Kelce/Kittle level. YAC, redzone threat, run blocking, pass protection. A truly unstoppable offense.

I think da Bears are in position to do what Texans did last year..draft a player and trade up and get another. I just don't see MH2 lasting until 4th or 5th. But anything is possible. Still think Chargers are better off drafting best OL or DL on board with pick #5 over MH2. We have had WRs for decades be great, even had great hall of fame TE. But we have never had dominate OL or DL play as a staple of Chargers football.

It is time to dominate the day up front.

Can we still have dominant, Harbaugh type OL/DL without spending our 1st on it?
I can't imagine Harbaugh depending on that 1 specific, albeit high pick to build an OL in his image.
if (big IF) but IF MH2 and Bowers are both "generational" prospects at their position, I'd gotta think even Jim would be willing to fins his linemen elsewhere, right?

Harbaugh will be laser focused to establish a pound the rock running game! Also a tough as nails D that will make Herbert's job that much easier! Get Herbert some weapons around that plan and I like our chances!

would it be to much to ask for Bowers to have a better career then Greg Olsen?

If we win a super bowl and is a big part of it, who gives a shit if he has a better career than Olsen? Do we need him to match Gates career is that what you are holding to the standard? You are the one making a deal about this. You don't know what kind of career he will have and he isn't even on our team yet.

If we also run a 2 TE set next season,..provided we get Harbaugh..... we will need two TEs. Bowers, and if we trade Joey, see if Carolina is interested and trade Joey to them for a 3rd and TE Tommy Tremble. Good blocking TE who is athletic and can catch. Only a 1.56 mil cap hit in last year of his deal.

Or 4th and Tremble. I just think he will have interest from teams and is worth more than some here think.

I'd take a 5th or even a 6th (this year) and Tremble if it would get Joey off the books . . . . . . .
